My daughters job is an os. I am so excited and can't wait until the day gets here so I can see her. Have you gotten any mail from your son

I  have heard  lots has changed in the Navy.  In fact my son said they refer to it as the NEW NAVY.  It is highly competitive to get in now....they are much stricter and choosier about who they let in.  So if you have a SR there, you are to be congratulated!  With the military cuts, no longer are they begging for men/women to join (yes, they still recruit, but it is different!).  My son had some seasoned sailors at his duty station who told him that they had never seend the Navy like this before.  I believe it is the smallest it has been now in years....

All to say, that your SRs are THERE and on their way to becoming sailors!

Funny, babydukie'smama!  No worries....many are still just finding this group, so hang in there!

The form letter can take anywhere from a few days up to maybe 2 weeks or so to receive.  They only send one, so if you don't receive one, could it have been sent to someone else?  I was told by someone at RTC that if there is a divorce situation, they can ask for a 2nd form letter to send to the other parent, but most may not know this....or they are afraid to ask (lots of yelling going on in the first part of bootcamp!)

Welcome to the new members in this group!  Just a reminder that soon, ellen will be posting division discussions above so that you can join your division (actually, they are grouped by brother divisions....which train together).....and meet others with SRs with yours!
