Hello everyone! My Recruit arrived at GL June 4th, very late at night, rec'd his quickie call very late at night, received "the Box" on Friday the 8th and his form letter today, can't wait to get the first real call and first real letter. I am so proud of all our recruits!

I didn't think so.  thanks :)

Big couple days.  Received an envelope with a few letters written from my SR.  He had gotten a blister on his heel and it became infected. He said he tried to "tough" it out but when his ankle started to swell he decided he better get it looked at. They put him on abx. and LLD (limited light duty), so he wasn't able to march or do the PT with 817.  He actually said he was upset about missing out.  "That's my Boy/Man!"   He said the worst part was that he couldn't wear his boots and had to wear his dorky sneakers around.  Commented on seeing the new recruits and having flashbacks to when he first got there and then said he found himself in a sea of graduating sailors and their families and couldn't wait for that to be him in another week.

So on the heels of getting all these yummy letters, I got my ribbon and luggage tag. Complete with Navy Mom in PINK!  They are great Lala thank you!  Bonus for the week was when I opened my facebook just now there was a note from my SR.  Guess he somehow had access to the internet and was able to send a note.  He said he got a 5.0/5.0 on his inspection and was very excited.  My niece then came on and asked my phone number, my SR had forgotten it, so maybe I will get a call.  Although he said he would call on Wedsnesday.

From reading asters post it sounds like they had Captain's Cup and did pretty well.  Soon, very soon we will get to see our Sailors.  So can't wait.  I think I'll pack today.  LOL

we will be flying from Texas to see our son graduate, we are excited....  Their is so much to read here!!!  We are staying in Gurnee, hopefully getting on the base for the PIR will not be too crazy!!
