Wow!! FOUR years! Is he already out as of Jan 2015? My son had to sign for 6 years plus 2 in the reserves. He still has a ways to go I suppose.
I can't believe it's been 4 years ... my son is out as of January and is home for good. Good and bad I guess. Thanks everyone for the support
Hi Kathy! I got exciting news.... my son met a girldriend at DLI (his A school which lasted all this past year). They got engaged New Years Eve. She has the same job as him only she is in the Air Force. He has to go to 'the desert' for 6 months and when he gets back they are getting married. I'm really excited! She's smart, she's beautiful, and she's military so she will completely understand what he goes through. He's finishing up his last few months of training right now in Georgia.
Great to hear from you!!
I was just thinking of all of you and hope you and yours are well and safe. My son is stationed at Little Creek, VA. He has been home a few times to visit and I have been out to visit him. He is scheduled to be deployed again this year.
Take care and God Bless you all.
KC'smom, my son is also still in training and will be for at least another 8months and possibly longer if he is chosen for ELT. He is in the Nuclear Power Propulsion Training Center. He is happy with his choices so far and I am hoping he continues to feel this way after he has experienced deployment. For those of you whose sailors have been deployed, how did they like it? If anyone has any feed back on this and would like to share, I am just curious how their first deployments went.
KC'smom - Wow, your son's training sounds intense and to be the only one in the class from the Navy. Have a wonderful visit with him in September.
KC's mom, what is your son in A school for ?
Kathy-3/325, my son was in fast attack submarine A school in Groton, CT for ET-Communication/radioman. He just graduated May 23,2012 - one year after he left for boot camp. He had leave and then left June 11th to be stationed in Hawaii. He was only there until the 17th and was deployed on the USS Greeneville.
Hi Everyone,
It's hard to believe it has been a year. My son is still in Afghanistan; praying he will be home in a few months.
ProudMama, what A school did your son go to? Is he on a ship?
If any of you get to the Harrisburg/Hershey area, let me know and we can get together.
It was good to see your posts.
