Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Lala, the bow is bigger than she is!  She is absolutely precious!  So glad momma and baby are home and doing well.  Happy to hear your mom is out of ICU and almost home.  You are blessed!

Good morning everyone and thanks so much. Mommy and baby are home from the hospital and doing well. My mom is out of ICU and recovering from pneumonia. She should be able to come home in a couple of days. Thanks so much for all the kindness, thoughts and prayers. We know they work and appreciate all of you so very much <3 I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am sure you are ready for another pic lol :) Her 3 yr old cousin went shopping and bought her a pretty headband. The flower is as big as her head lol. But she has her open in this one :)

Good Morning All !

cindilouwho,

If you want, you can start a Boot Camp letter writing group, so it's not just you writing all the letters, but I'm unsure how people would get the SRs names and addresses to you other than private messaging.  You would need to join and pop into each PIR group to either encouage moms to join your letter writing group or to request names and addresses of the SRs to write letters to.  Be aware of the cost of having envelopes, paper, stamps, and pens available at all times.

How about contacting Recruit Man Ronny at www.callsforrecruits.org and you can join his team of letter writers?

Anyways, so glad that Navy for Moms helped you so much!!
