N4M's Community Guidelines

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

So I want to make sure... are we all ordering the SAME color of ribbon? Beachmom, you said you got the red/blue one (red with blue on top)? Are you getting your last name with div number, or are you putting "proud mom" with division number?  Want to get mine ordered ASAP!

Just talked to Lala Ribbon Lady and she said it's not too late to order for 8/2 PIR

Jennrenee and JBsmom4, I ordered from Lala Ribbon Queen on this site.  I ordered blue and red ribbon (blue on top) with silver lettering.  I think they are $7.50 each.   I don't believe the other pins are available anymore.  That's what I've been told anyway.  We probably should have our screen names on there as well so we know each other!

Beachmom and JoeRsmom, which ribbon did you order? I am definitely interested!

Comment by CHC on July 12, 2013 at 9:21am

Nicks mom, I have only gotten one letter from my SR and that was weeks ago :(

But he is busy so I won't gripe at him though I did send a self addressed stamped envelope as a hint.

The pin the other mother made for our division, I can't remember her name on this site and I wont post her real name, is pictured below. I may order one of the other ribbons and wear both!

Awe, thanks so much everyone, your kindness has brought tears to my eyes. I look forward to making your ribbons and anything else you ordered <3

Good Friday morning everyone. If you want to take a look at a PIR ceremony you can take a look at today's graduation ceremony that will be live-streamed on the internet. They are now doing this for all the ceremonies and it is such a great idea. Families who have to wait in the hotel because there wasn't room for them on the list and even families at home who couldn't go at all can now be a part of this fantastic celebration. I wish they had had this when my daughter was graduating so my mom could have watched it. It starts at 8:45 am Central time. Here's the link, there is also a chat :)   Click herehttp://navylive.dodlive.mil/
The video will display under Live Events during broadcast.

Just ordered my ribbons for PIR from our own  Lala Ribbon Queen!

Comment by diannep on July 12, 2013 at 8:06am

Like ellen said, the PIR ribbons are made by our own Lala Ribbon Queen, one of the N4Moms veterans on here.  You can reach her on the link Beachmom/ellen provided, or go to her page on her and friend request her.  She does a great job on the ribbons and gets them to you quickly!

Good Morning!
