~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@CatMom-

Thank you. :) My plan is to just go back to the hotel and wait for him there. I'm sure he'll be anxious to get there so he won't dilly dally around on base. I'm picking my battles carefully when it comes to planning. lol So I have it down to a science at this stage for myself. All other surprises will be dealt with as they arise. ha ha ha ha I just want to see my Sailor son and I'll be good with that. :) I'm sure he can't wait.

I will have a suite at Residence Inn. SO if there are Sailors that would like to spend their liberty with us? They are more than welcome to. We won't be going anywhere except to eat. Staying put at the hotel to avoid issues. I'm going to make sure my SR knows we will have room. My daughter whom works for Marriott blessed us with the room.

I'm still waiting to hear something from the girlfriend. Hopefully today she will get her plans in motion. And I will let her know the best option is for her to be picked up from Midway and utilize Sarge's shuttle service. To and from airports, to the hotel. She can ride with me to PIR since we are both on the list. My son will help pay for transportation.

We made plans way before BC. We're OCD to a flaw with little details. Which is why I already sent him the information for my flight. IF he wasn't in BC? He'd be online tracking my flight from the get go. And the weather. HA HA HA I already gave him what type of plane I'll be on. So he has a visual of what's going on. I can almost bet the next letter he sends me will be ALL about the plane and the airport. We are veterans of airports. We've spent more time on the ground here in Tampa at the airport just hanging out so he can plane watch, than we ever have up in the air. We've been given behind the scenes tours of this airport even. Twice. Media exposure helped him gain that kind of clout around here. ha ha ha ha Just email the director of the airport? And voila! He scored another behind the scenes tour. ha ha ha ha

I'mma shut up now. I am under a lot of stress. I never talk to anyone here at home. My stress and family overwhelms people. And it's not even my stress either! It's my family! I am the main gal everyone leans on.

I went to bed exhausted last night. Really early, too. I wished I could say I can't wait for Friday! But I'll be working all weekend starting Friday. I have full hours clear up to day of my leaving for Chicago. Gotta keep paying the bills here.

have a blessed day ladies!!! Thanks for putting up with me! I love ya all!

awe cindilou, hugs coming your way :) It is crazy here today as well :) but very exciting!!!!

We are on Baby Watch, My Sailors are at the hospital, contractions are 3 to 5 min apart and according to ultrasound head is down but she has not dilated any, they are keeping her for now checking her again in two hours. She is 36 weeks and 3 days, due Aug 2nd so I am hoping she waits a little longer but it looks more like I will be heading to VA Beach very very soon. Please keep them and me in your prayers <3

LOL@Lala

you don't even know the half of what's going on since I got up this morning! I just want to cry! Sometimes I just wish I had a husband to tell all the kids "go talk to dad about this stuff! I'm too tired to deal with it!". But as I am the only one at the helm? EVERYONE comes to me when there is a crisis. And we have a crisis going on that I just want to lay down and cry about right now. It will be another issue when I get home as my life will once again change.

But I also cannot wait to get to Chicago to get away from everyone and be with my SR!

I emailed Sarge and got my transportation all worked out. When I get the girlfriend's plans/flight itinerary? I will work on that then for her. But for myself? I got that worked out so at least I get to and from the airport, PIR, get my sailor to and from the hotel and myself back to the airport to leave. We are working on getting her to the airport and she will ride with me to PIR. I will go back to the hotel to wait for my sailor and he can come to me instead. Got that arranged.

I'm not even there and I'm exhausted already!

My truck came back today. It's a "mystery" to the mechanic. I'm not driving it until my day off Wed.. Can't afford to have it break down and me be late for work. It can break down again Wed.. LMAO

I don't have any friends here to vent to. I don't talk to people at work. I go to church when I am not working. Which is rare these days. Boyfriend thinks I'm off my rocker and he usually falls asleep. (he just doesn't get it!).

I'm exhausted. Long day.

Wow 40 years, that is amazing. Ours in NC, are good for 8 years as long as you have a good driving record.

It shouldn't matter, IceBaby'sMom.  If concerned, take either your birth certificate or social security card as well.

About the ID's, I am from Arizona where our Drivers License is good for like 40 odd years. As a result of that the photo on mine is about 20 years old. Will that matter?

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on July 8, 2013 at 4:35pm

Everyone be sure that you and everyone going with you to PIR checks their photo ID and make sure it has not expired or won't expire before you get back from PIR. We had a mom a couple months ago who got to the airport and could not board her plane because her drivers license had expired. She had to change her flight and leave to go to the DMV. it was costly mistake for sure. Even if you drive you will need current ID it to get into PIR so be sure it hasn't expired :)
