DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Tomorrow is the halfway point if my math is right! (Math is not my strong point)
Good Morning All!
Lala, thundering/lightening and raining here in S FL again this morning. I'll try to keep it from you! You have enough already!
Lala I live across the Clearwater Causeway. SR60 causeway in Clearwater! (close to downtown Clearwater actually). I've never been to the Florida Aquarium but have heard good things about it! While you're in the area you should also jet over to the Aquarium over here where Winter the Dolphin lives! Yes we have a Hollywood star in our midst over here. :) The exhibit itself starts in Downtown Clearwater actually. And they trolly you over to the Aquarium across the Clearwater Bay. It's fairly inexpensive and a great experience!
If you're looking for lunch after the Aquarium there in Tampa? Head towards International Plaza near the airport (not very far). They have an awesome food court! There is also Hulk's Beach which is right on the Tampa Bay Harbor. Yes Hulk Hogan lives in Clearwater (you can drive right by his nifty house on the beach in Clearwater Beach!)! He's an every day sight! Just as nice as nice can be! He hangs out a lot over by me at a little diner called 3 Coins. He's just one of us! No fan fair here! ha ha ha ha
The rain is a normal summer event here in Florida, too! The closer to the Gulf you get? The more rain you'll see in the summer time! But if you get a chance to go see the #1 in top 10 beaches in Florida? (as voted by USA Today!) then I'd suggest heading for the sugar white sands of our beaches! There is a lot to do in a days time! And a lot to see! Yes you can even see dolphins chasing after the boats in the water, too! It's a daily event and site for us locals! On the rainy days? It's funny because you'll watch all the beach goers out on the beach one minute? The next everyone scrambles up to shelter...the rain passes? Everyone goes back out to the sand. They don't even take towels! It's back to business as usual.
Welcome to my part of the Florida beaches!
Cindilouwho - that is great news! I know your son will be happy that you are at his PIR. So happy things worked out.
cindilouwho65, I am so so happy for you. That is awesome!!! You said you are near Tampa. Where are you? I am heading to the Aquarium in Tampa today :)
Good morning everyone, still raining in the Sunshine State :( At least it's not a tropical storm. That's my bright side lol. Heading to the Aquarium :) I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Just checking in ladies (and gents if there are some lol)
I don't know what to say other than a big THANK YOU to the angels that have made it possible for me to be at PIR for my son. You really don't know how grateful that I am. I mean really grateful! My son will be SOOO happy!
Plane tickets were bought yesterday! To and from Chicago! The hardest part to accomplish? Was finally accomplished!! I am SO grateful! My daughter and so many other people came together and made it possible for myself. I know it was a big worry for my son and I promised him that one way or the other that I WOULD be there.
My daughter works for Marriott, Inc.. And that's where my room is booked. (Not sure which one yet but I'll find out soon enough). I'm sure she made it the one closest to PIR for transporation peace of mind on my part. But those of you that can't seem to book a room anywhere else? Let me know ok? I'll talk to her and see if she can find some where I'm at and hold them. I have to be the one to check in for you because it will be on our family rate (which could save you $$ on hotel expenses! :) ) I will be flying into Ohare around 7:30 am on the 1st so I can meet up with my son's girlfriend who is flying in from Daytona. She's only 17 and can't check into hotels or get on base without me. :P She will be by my side the whole step of this journey for my son. I call her my future daughter in law. So we communicate a whole lot. She may be going to college in tampa close to me as well. I live right across the bay so we can see each other. My son would like that when he's gone.
I am going to send ahead some of his stuff to the hotel (a little bit....laptop, civvy clothes to wear at the hotel and other little things he may want at his new barracks later) to the hotel where I'm staying. Courtesy of my daughter and Fed Ex so it saves me flying with a lot of stuff! ha ha ha ha It is completely possible for all of you to do that with your SR's to send ahead a small box to the hotel where you'll be staying. Call them and tell them ahead of time.
Yes my truck is still broke down. I gave up caring about it at this point. ha ha ha It's going back to the mechanic to get it fixed. Again. But I'm so over it!
I sent my son out a letter letting him know when I'll be in Chicago. :)
From the bottom of my heart? Thank you for the angels on this site that made it possible to accomplish the nearly impossible! This girl is so grateful!
I'll see you all in Chicago!!
