~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Congrats to all those who received calls. I know that even though they may be feeling homesick and still struggling with this new experience it still does your heart good to hear their voice :)

Heard from my son today, said he was doing well but is now sick thinks he is running fever but doesn't want to go see the medic. Got his dress uniforms and was real excited about that. He passed his test on Monday-yea!! Said next two weeks were going to be really difficult. I' m wishing them all the best.

Beachmom:  As up and down as bootcamp is for you all on here, it is the same way for the SRs.  Tomorrow is a "new" day...and probably will be a good one for him!  You will see a very positive change in your SR about training week 4 (which is bootcamp week 5 or so)....that is when it all starts sinking in that he/she is so close to becoming a sailor.

So....no worries!  I know it did him good to speak to you....hoping he gets well soon, but I am sure he has lots of company with others being sick.  Happens in every division, but they survive and become sailors!  :-)

Just got a call!  He is still sick, tired and a little homesick.  I am so glad I got to talk to him for a bit, but now my stomach is in knots.  I told him to hang in there, he has 36 days to go!  He says he is fine, just wasn't a good day for him. Gosh, this mom is so worried.

Rascal73- my son was able to call today and he did great on the test too--(Sounded like all of 279 did great)  It sounds like Ship 12 Div 279 and Div 280 are doing awesome!! Makes me feel so much better! They mustve received the extra calls as rewards for the test grades

The number of recruits in a division may fluctuate the entire training period.

There will be recruits who are separated, asmo'd, those who are returning from RCU or FIT to finish training, and those who have been asmo'd from an earlier PIR date. etc.
