Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Here are the Recruit Leadership positions:
I got my second weekend call from my son today! This time I actually got to talk to him! His Div. 283 has been getting all our mail since last week. He got the first five of my letters! I sent him printed up pics of his sisters and I. I sent back his calling cards (good thing!), pics of him flying a plane (he flies small planes!) He got my questionaires I sent to help give me an idea of how it's going there (he said for those questions he didn't know he just said UM? lol) He was worried about how I was doing. (that's my son) and I told him I'm maintaining on the homefront. But that I have been wondering how he was doing up there, and to PLEASE order his graduation pics and dvd's (he said I knew you'd say that so I planned on it already lol). We only had ten minutes so thus his girlfriend didn't get a call tonight. But he gave me a message to text to her from him and I did. :)
He was only allowed 10 minutes period for a phone call tonight. (we usually know why 20 minutes are cut back right?)
He says it's only 6 more weeks! He remembered me telling him how to gauge his time there until he graduates and can see everyone. :) He sent out more letters. And told me who he already got letters from besides me. ha ha ha ha
I can exhale. His conversation had me fighting back the tears. He cares so much for this family. And he's just so proud right now. He's happy that I'm proud of him. We used to be an Air Force family. He told me tonight to get used to being a Navy family. I said um ok? I told him about all the support I have gotten from all of you here on this site. That I talk to others on Facebook through the groups set up there. I watch the pictures that come out on Facebook, the RTC site (he says I know...I've seen the photographer......:) ) Have to love technology when families are apart. :)
I am happy to have heard his voice and how he's doing! He's doing well. Very well. Can't brag enough about his uniform and for someone who is not a sociable person? He says the division is still getting used to each other and learn and remember names. :) Details. It's all in the details for that OCD detail boy of mine. :)
I just got a call from our son! he sounds really good, and says he likes it? go figure, Love that kid! :) It was so great to hear his voice!
Hang in there, Chantilly. Ship 5 is not fun, but hopefully he is asking lots of questions and will get to see Legal soon. Hoping he gets to contact you again soon.
Hello Alll!
"I will give thanks to the Lord
because of His righteousness
and will sing praise to the name
of the Lord Most High."
Psalm 7:17
Thank you all for the support. I feel like I am losing it and he is losing it and there is nothing I can do to help. After reading some stuff moms posted on the ship 5 group on navy for moms, I found out that it is terrible in ship 5.
