~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi Everyone, Recieved a letter today. He sounds great. I have everything ready to decorate our door. Have a wonderful day and God bless our SR's.
Hello All~~
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
Hebrews 10:23
This has been posted before, but our son had just left for BC and I couldn’t think 2 months ahead. Which route is better? I 94 or I 90?
Gina: Calls are always possible....just depends on the RDCs. Remember, they reward with calls too! So keep the phones close!
Conny,
Hell week is where the intense training happens. They are working so hard to earn flags for their barracks, drills, academics, etc... These are the flags that each division carries in the front when they march into PIR. They won't be able to make phone calls to their families during this time, so the weekly letters will be the only communication you have. Almost right before Battlestations, depending on how they do, they might be able to make a phone call. See the "What Are They Doing in Boot Camp and the Day-by-Day account" up in the Pages section to see the details of what Hell Week entails~~
22 days to go. What happens in "Hell" week? I miss talking to my kid!
taylor's mom: I would text him or email him. He will start getting busy later today and tomorrow with this week's PIR group so I would do it now. Just mention that you had emailed him (I think I would text him) and say you have not heard back and were wondering if he got your email. He usually is good about replying .

I had sent an email out to Sarg for transportation last week( I think Thursday) and gave him my phone number but have not heard back from him to confirm. Do you think I should send out another email or call. I don't know him and don't want to seem pushy but with planning a wedding and getting to PIR and a new curriculum for the start of school I find myself needing to secure the events that I can so I can cross some off the list.
