OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We now have received 2 letters and 2 phone calls!  Such a difference from the first week to the second.  She loves it!  Just has trouble staying awake.  Maybe she should try going to sleep at NIGHT -ha!  Ship 9 Div 243 - Graduation 8 8.  Looking for moms with that PIR - my daughter says we should get to know each other online and then meet in person at the meet and greet in August.

Sorry I haven't been on yesterday or today. We are now in FL on vacation and I can't use my phone for this site. We were traveling all day yesterday. We got here last night and my brand new computer that I have had less than 2 months will not turn on at all. So, so very disappointed in DELL :( I called tech support and have to mail my laptop to them and wait about 2 weeks to get it back. No idea how they expect a small business owner to work without a computer for that long :( Thank goodness my hubby has his laptop and I can use it enough to get on a little bit each day. If anyone needs me or has any questions please email me at uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com I can check email and facebook from my phone but not this site for some reason :(

Happy Independence Day to all of our Navy family. Just a couple more weeks and I will get to see my daughter and beautiful grand baby :)  I hope you all had a wonderful day and I hope you got to spend it with your sailors or got to talk or FaceTime with them. <3 It is because of their service and those who served  before them that we are able to enjoy days like this with our families <3  God Bless them all!

@ Victors mom, yes my other son when he graduated boot camp all the kids were coming up to me saying hi, and they were exchanging numbers etc, now every other person on his facebook is Navy affiliated, I love that they get to meet so many different people from different walks of life. My son that is in boot camp has like 3000 followers on instagram. Im sure he is already exchanging facebook information for when they get out...lol Happy 4th to you as well, and to everyone reading. My son who is in GL A school said last night when I called him he was on base at a 4th of July festival he said. He said he was wondering if his brother across the way could see from BC that would have been nice. Hopefully some of us may get surprise calls today.

Thanks, Conny!  Same to you!

Happy 4th of July to all!  Remembering all of the sacrifice made for our independence!  And sacrifices continuing to preserve it!

Thank you bettyboop reading your post about your son sounded like you were describing my son. He is also very into his appearance. Shaves his body hair and tweezes his unibrow. I would call him my GQ boy. Even his football & Lacrosse shoes had to color coordinate the uniforms. Have not heard from him yet. I will not miss his next call. It would be wonderful if your son and my son are friends. Seems like they would have a lot in commend.

Your post really started my 4th off with a smile. Have a blessed 4th. It's wonderful to have good news to tell his great grandmother.

Bettyboop, maybe my son is one of the friends he has made (: ! He  is in 245 too.. no letter yet but a couple of calls

Conny:  They will have some down time tomorrow, and it is not counted as a training day.....they are on HOLD....but still will have some things to do that day.  I had heard in one group that some will have drill practice.  No, sadly they will not be able to go experience the fireworks.....at least they haven't in past years.  Some of the PIR groups closer to graduation may have their 900 divisions perform in events in the area.

hey ladies.. I got a letter from my son today!! It was so funny because my son is really into his appearance.. hes buff works out super ripped and shaves his body hair and even tweezes his bushy eye brows. He was like mom when u come to PIR can u bring my tweezers I am pretty bushy. He said he is making friends. He is DIV 245.   He also said P days suck terribly. He said he got a little freedom when he got to walk by himself to the dentist. I just kept looking at the print on his letter smiling.. cause after ever few sentences he would say ha ha... he always says that when he sends me texts. Anyway he said things are getting more manageable there and he loves and misses his family. Tomorrow we are going to visit family and his 87 year old great grandma will be happy to know he is doing ok.. she asked about him, so I am glad I have good news to report!!
