N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I contacted the Photo Lab at 847-578-6205.  I was advised that 1/2 way through Boot Camp the photos are taken and they can order their photo package then.  Package A is the one that includes The Keel (yearbook) for free and must be ordered at this time if they want the yearbook for free.  The PIR dvd (a MUST!!) should be ordered too.

During the week of graduation, the SRs come back to pay for their pictures/Keel/PIR dvd using:

     1. their Navy Federal account

     2. another bankcard, cash, or check (your SR might have written you to request you send the bankcard or a blank check if they don't already have those with them)

     3. parent can pay for order already placed after PIR at

         the NEX Photo Lab

If the SR did not order any pictures or the Keel or the PIR dvd, the parent/family member can go to the Photo Lab, view the proofs, place the order and pay for it.  The Keel will be an extra charge at this time (not included with any package). The Keel and PIR dvd are available to order for a week after PIR~~

Question for everyone....how do the SRs pay for the pictures, yearbook, etc.?  Is it taken out of their paychecks?

Good morning everyone, I hope more get some wonderful calls today. I know it is hard waiting and just not knowing what is going on. I think our imaginations get the best of us sometimes.

I think our SRs are in the same division. I haven't received a phone call either. I waited all day Sunday as well, so I understand your disappointment. I hope we get a call soon!
