Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning everyone. Mommy and baby are home from the hospital and doing well. My mom is out of ICU and recovering from pneumonia. She should be able to come home in a couple of days. Thanks so much for all the kindness, thoughts and prayers. We know they work and appreciate all of you so very much <3 I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I am sure you are ready for another pic lol :) Her 3 yr old cousin went shopping and bought her a pretty headband. The flower is as big as her head lol. But she has her open in this one :)

Call from Div 298!  Great call.  My girl is sick, but sounded wonderful, very upbeat, and excited to graduate!!  Keep your phones close!

My son told me he and 3 other guys have formed an a'capella quartet! But says they won't let them sing at PIR...lol. I love the things they do to pass the time and the friendships they are making. What great stories to tell!

meli qz,

Remember that he can mail his letter to you only on Mondays, so he is responding to the mail he has received up to last Friday.  No mail delivery on Saturdays and all the mail he has received from you early this week, he won't respond until this coming Sunday.  I hope I've explained it right to you~~

Comment by CatMom509 on July 26, 2013 at 5:10pm

Hmmm, they should be receiving the mail today for instance, that you mailed on Tuesday.  He should able to receive a letter that you mail next Friday or Saturday as the last ones.  I live in Southern California, so that was the lag time between mailing and my Sailor daughter receiving our letters, about 3 days after we mail.

I have a question: Today I'm writing my letter #50, and yesterday I received more personal letters from my SR. And for what I read he is receiving mail from like 10 days ago. When do you think I should stop writing? Today is his day 6-1 PIR 8/9

Comment by cheflinda on July 26, 2013 at 9:42am

Mail from my SR... Short and sweet but sounding so much better.  Guess their division is doing well..  They have received three flags though I can't recall what they were for.  But like I told my SR...They are over the top of the mountainl...It's downhill from now though don't get too cocky...it's still going to be a bumpy ride and have a few obstacles in the way but as long as they all do what they are supposed to..they will all do great!!  Two WEEKS left!!!  YEA!!!!
