OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Debi,

So proud of his Honor Recruit nomination!  You can be sure that there will be many more honor opportunities in his Navy future because he's already been determined to have what it takes!!  I love your positive attitude too, it's so sweet!!

Debi:  Being nominated for Honor Guard itself is fantastic!  He should be very proud!  Those buttons will get them every time!

Thanks so much everyone, My Sailors had a beautiful baby Girl. Dad, Mommy and baby Eastyn are doing fine, they will have to stay in the hospital 48 hours because Loran tested positive for Strep-B but they should be just fine. Please keep them in your prayers. Also, My mom was admitted to ICU back in NC and has fluid on her lungs and possibly a blood clot so please keep her and my dad in your thoughts and prayers as well. Thanks so much  <3 Here is a pic of Eastyn :) She is simply beautiful!!!

Usually after the "3" calls the SRs don't get extra calls  unless they earn them. I know during my first son's BC they could earn a call by donating to the Red Cross fund or if they totally aced a test etc. So..getting any calls between now and I'm a sailor is a total bonus :)

Got a letter from my SR yesterday..he was nominated for Honor Recruit of his division but then had a major brain fart and forgot to button 4 buttons on his uniform for the inspection of the Board of Chiefs...so there went Honor Recruit! LOL  He said he learned a valuable lesson...not to get to overly confident when doing things because you'll miss the small details!  Guess I needed to buy him more button up things when he was little! lol Oh well at least he got nominated :)  But he did earn Expert on his Live Fire exercise..scored 238/240! (he had dreams of being a sniper at one point..this mommy talked him out of it!)

Only 14 days 23 hours 59 seconds ...but I'm not counting!

GoBuckeyes:  I believe they have a chance of promotion when in certain leadership positions in bootcamp.  Remember, they can be promoted as high as E-3 when in bootcamp....

My SR in DIV 289 just called a couple of hours ago. She said they haven't had time and she wouldn't have had time tonight but another SR went to the NEX so she could make a 10 min call. She said they aren't scheduled another call until next Saturday. She missed calling two weeks ago because she was on watch.

Many of us were told not to expect another call until the end.  I think I last spoke with my daughter on the 9th.  She didn't tell me that, but other moms in her division heard it from their SR's.  And, I don't think anyone in my daughters division has called since.  I guess now we are waiting on the 'Im a sailor' call.
