Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Tami - 13/295 here, also.  I barely slept last night.  So now I'm tired and glued to my phone.  So looking forward to talking to my SR and maybe sleeping tonight.  Happily packing tomorrow!!!  Good Luck to us.

Good morning everyone. My daughter is in division 939. I'm hoping to hear from her today, but based on something she wrote, I won't be surprised if she doesn't call until tomorrow. Still planning on my 11 hour drive on Thursday! Take care and have a great day!

Diannep: I definitely agree that more information is better than no information. I wish I had found this forum 2 Sailors ago!! It's a life-changing event for our kiddos and I'm more connected to my current SR because I have a more knowledge about what she's going through. (Even thought I'm driving my husband crazy with my resulting anxiety!) The best time we spent with our sailor last year was at the airport. we didnt know about being able to meet there-- but the stinker left his wallet in the car, so we had to plan an intervention based on the few details we had. Anyhoo, thanks for the good info. Keep it up! I definitely needed to know how to arrange our extra guest on Fri-- don't want granny standing outside in the rain!

See you then. Look for the blonde curly blue eye little boy! Our future sailor.

Thanks Tribe mom. Anything for our sailors! People will always have an opinion or comment about others lives. I caught grief too. Driving with my grandson will be no easy feat. As supportive & proud Navy mom's nothing will deter us! Have a safe & blessed trip! You are staying at navy lodge? We will be checking in Thursday about 2am.

Well Martha I just bought my granddaughter (1yr) and dvd player for trips they are 5 hours ay.  She does not watch much tv but it really hepls them to come see us. Its a "new" toy that keeps here occupied. Good luck at least I can give the dog something to keep him calm. I caught grief from some ppl at work about driving instead offf ling so my Sailor could see his dog, but it will be worth every second to see him happy.
