Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 940

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good Morning,

I was wondering if anyone has received phone calls or letters from Div 940?  I received the form letter and a call two weeks ago.  I'm having such a hard time not being able to communicate with my son.  I miss him so much!

Thank you in advance,

El

Thank you Melissa, for answering.  I am hoping to get a letter today!!  Hope you're having a good day.

El

EL, redid my post to fix some typing erros. I have not received a phone call since that one two weeks ago, but I did receive a letter on Monday and two more yesterday. She mentioned the mail only goes out every Sunday, but get to receive mail everyday. Hopefully you will have something today.

Melissa

Hi Melissa, I'm excited, I did get a letter in yesterday's mail, and my daughter who lives in Seattle received a letter, as well.

My daughter is Ship 02 Division 940 and graduating 8/14/15.   I received a letter from her on Thursday in in the mail  7/9/15.  It was 3 letters in one and she said something about being able to send letters again soon.  She also told me that only one car per family for the graduation.  Did you make reservations for PIR yet?  I made my at the Hilton Gardens Inn Lakes Forest Mettawa.  Hope to hear from more parents.   I also received a call about two weeks ago on a Friday night from my daughter.   Has anyone heard from their recruits yet?   My daughter also said she is a section leader.

Good Morning Cindy, I received three letters in one envelope yesterday.  I also received a call on Sunday afternoon.  It was so nice to hear my son's voice.  He sounds good, which makes me feel better.  I made reservations at Spring Hill Hotel.  I'm looking forward to meeting everyone...

I got a call from my boyfriend on Sunday (7/12). He had sent out 2 letters last week and sent out two more for me this week. He also mentioned that they should be able to call on Sundays now, provided, I'm sure, that they behave themselves. He said he has been receiving mail too. He messed up my address on the first two that he sent but I should get the next two soon.

On graduation day, is seating assigned by division or is it first come first served?

Hello NBWD,

I asked my sister this question as her son graduated from boot camp (over a year ago). She couldn't remember, but she was able to sit directly in front of her son's division. My sister did mention to leave early to be sure you get a seat as she almost did not get a seat in that area. She remembered thinking she should have left earlier. So, if there is a spot for each division, the seats are still first come first served in each section.

I do believe my daughter thought there was an area for the 900 division also.

Sorry, not really much help.

Thanks.  I plan to be there when the gate opens.  NB
