N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My son is Div 269...phone is glued to my hand!!!  Hasn't rang all day, so when it does I will probably jump a mile!!!!  I can't believe we are this close to the finish line.  It's been an emotional 8-9 weeks for all of us, and I am so very grateful for this site, and for those that take the time to answer questions and 'hold our hands' while we navigate this new world we have found ourselves in.  I am also grateful for the friends I have made here, and I so hope it continues beyond boot camp.  I'm just so emotional right now, and I just want to hug everyone!

lovemyson:  You complete the gate pass once you print it out.  Not a silly question at all!  We don't consider any question on here silly!  :-)

Good morning all! Excited for todays calls for everyone! holding tight to my phone!!

I have a question about the gate pass, I printed it but because things are so tight with security and all I just don't want to make any error so my question is do we fill the gate pass out or leave it blank and they fill it out? I noticed I couldn't type anything in it. Thank you! probably silly question but being safe. blessings!

I'm a Sailor calls expected this afternoon (after 2pm Central) from 267-270.  Please post when you hear from your sailor and mention your division number.  Congrats!

Captains Cup tomorrow morning for this PIR group.  Fun competition between the divisions!

Claire:  Also, no problem taking a shuttle from Holiday Inn Express to PIR  You can either sign up with the local service when you check in....or....contact Sarge (the one who holds the MeetandGreet for you) and arrange a shuttle with him.  Personally, although we had a rental car, we took the shuttle to PIR and would do it that way again...the shuttles bypass the car lines and were very easy to take (actually taxis operating as shuttles that morning).  It is $3/pp I believe.  Your sailor can return with you on the shuttle, IF not moving over to GL for A School.  Those sailors will transfer right after PIR is over.

Good Morning All !

Claire, If you get a call from your Sailor you can ask him for the password, he can give it to you. You can also drive to PIR and park at the train depot which is right across the street from the gate to the RTC.

Quick question about shuttles to base. My SR's parents have potentially lost the form letter with the gate pass code. I have a car that I've rented but obviously can't drive it on base without a gate pass. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express. Is there a hotel nearby I could park at and hop the shuttle to PIR?
