For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

As for the names you see on the form letter as guests attending PIR, ignore them...LOL Not really, but the form letter is not the final list that is used at PIR. Many recruits are so flustered they put Mom, Dad, Aunt Kathy, my brother, even a pets name. They finalize the list in the last couple weeks of PIR, so set your plans and let your recruit know who is coming.

lovemyson, All TG are formed with the first division being an odd numbered division. This TG appears to start with division 267, so it brother division would be 268, 269 and 270, 271 and 272, and so on. Regular divisions form numerically until the fiscal year ends.

The only two division that don't follow that are the 800 and 900 divisions. Those two are numbered numerically from the beginning of the fiscal year, and only have a brother division if there are two 800 or two 900 divisions in a TG.

The 900 divisions basically follow the TG number (there are exceptions through the year). This is TG 40 so the 900 divisions is 940.

The PIR group before yours has division 816 (spec ops), the 16 means it is the 16th spec ops division in this Navy fiscal year. The next 800 division might not form until August (can be any time) and it will be division 817.
