N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Where did you get the Navy G shock watch? I think that would be perfect for my son...

We are giving our graduate the Navy colored official Navy G-shock watch and the challenge coin for his ship.  His grandfather is a retired Senior Chief so we figured the coin could come from him.

Good Morning All:  I am holding off on the grad gift.  My SR said that if we bring stuff for them, we have to keep it till they are allowed..  My SR is not at GL for A school. My SR said that they would either be flying out that Saturday or Sunday.  I read in one of the posts that it isn't a good idea to go to far as they have to be back at a certain time.  I'm sure diannep or LaLa Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons can help answer this question more then i can.  When I talked to my SR last night, hanging in the motel room away from base would be welcomed.

Lisa, my son is also div 303 and he called on Saturday in the late afternoon. He had called the two previous Saturdays at around 10 a.m. So we thought we weren't going to get a call. Did your daughter call?

My son said he thought they might have a chance at another call today Monday! Not sure but maybe. We can hope!

By the way he sounded much better in this most recent call. He sounded almost demoralized last week. But he sounded great this Saturday.

Your daughter maybe had watch duty? There's probably other reasons why she didn't call. But hang in there Lisa. Just keep sending good thoughts her way.

Hi Holli. We were thinking of a ball game in Chicago but we r not sure when he'll be flying out for A school. ( I have heard nukes fly out that night!) so we might not have time enough for that. Maybe just going back to the hotel where he can eat pizza while watching ESPN? Something normal as opposed to the craziness of BC. V loves watchin' a ball game!

I have a quick questions for other moms who's son/daughter is graduating on 8-16-13.  Are any of you giving them a "graduation gift"?  if so, I need ideas......  Also if you are hanging out with them on saturday the 17th, what is everyone doing?  I mentioned Six Flags to Evan and he said he wants to "chill" and walking around the park doesn't sound fun.  would appreciate any opinion, thanks everyone and happy Monday
