Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ladies, remember if booking the Navy Lodge, call them and tell them you are there for Navy graduation and book in your sailor's name.
kristyenglish: The area the Ramada Inn is in is not a real good one, we have been told.
Check out the following hotels in Waukegan/Gurnee:
Holiday Inn Express
Springhill Suites
Courtyard Inn
Residence Inn
All are close to Sarge's MeetandGreet held the night before PIR.
Nice hotels with good reviews. We stayed at Residence and liked it.
Navy Lodge that Lala mentioned is very good too...close to RTC, just renovated, price is right too.
shello: It is about 8-9 miles from RTC....about a 15 to 20 minute drive.
Does anyone know about the Best Western in Gurnee? Is that going to be far away?
kristy the Ramada hasn't been getting very good reviews lately. I would definitely check their reviews online and see if it looks okay for you. There are several good hotels in the area some more expensive but very nice and some less expensive but very comfortable rooms beds etc like the Navy Lodge.
Good Morning everyone :) glad to see some are getting calls. I know that makes you feel so much better.
Sarge hosts a meet and greet at the Sundance Saloon the night before PIR. He has a ton of information about the next step in our SR lives. His Name is Sarge John L. Spadaro. He can also hook you up with transportation to / from the airport if you choose not to rent a car. I didn't see anything bad about the Ramdada, just that it is outdated and had a moldy smell. Here is the link for the Ramada and you can decide yourself.http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g36854-d90331-Reviews-Ramad...
Thank you catmom509 for the information. Good Morning all. For those of you still trying to figure out where to stay. I found that the Red Roof Inn according to travel adviser is a good place to stay. I also found from other websites that the Days Inn Great Lakes and the Quaility are questionalbe. One post on they trip adviser said that one of them had bed bugs and I know the Day Inn Great Lakes is about 100 dollars a night. Trip Advisor had no negative comments that would scare anyone. Hope to meet some of you at graduation. Also if you get a chance friend Sarge on Facebook.
