Hi! We just got our letter last night and our son is on this ship and division. It felt so good to finally get some small connection with him again!
I'm so happy you received your letter! I know it truly turned my day around. Was your son able to add a note? I'm happy to connect with someone else who has a SR in the same division.
Yes - He said each day was getting easier, however they were still in the medical processing week. lol - I bet those days are going to be getting harder again since PT should have started now. I was a little surprised that he decided to join the 900 division - he was undecided, leaning toward NOT before he left. He played the trombone for his HS marching band all 4 years. What does your recruit play/do? I'm happy as well to find a friend with a recruit on the same ship! :) Do you have a son or a daughter?
Becky
My SR is a girl, my youngest child. She was also in the HS marching band for 4 years, she plays the trumpet. Did your son just graduate this year?
I'm sorry , I was out of town all last week - not ignoring you. :) Yes - my son just graduated in May, just turned 18 in April......so hard to let them go while they still seem so young. He is my youngest with my first husband, but I have a 9 yr old with my current husband. Still he will always be my "baby". Have you gotten a "real" letter from your daughter yet? I'm still waiting.
No real letter yet. I'm crossing my fingers this week. My daughter graduated in June, so I feel like you and I are in the same boat (no pun intended).
just got my letter and my son is ship02 div940 so glad finally got some info and i got a breif letter from him as well:)
Hi! I received a letter from my son on Sat., June 30th and it was a real letter!! He told us about being in the 900 Division, triple Threat (whatever that means)! He did say he was tired alot but that the food was pretty good (and he's a picky eater)! My husband pulled up one of the Graduation sites where that had the 900 Division performing and I started crying! My husband looks at me and says "what are you crying for, that's not Mike"! These guys just don't get it sometimes! Anyway, it was great getting the letter; hope all you will be receiving yours soon.

hi everyone my son (Nelson) sang in High school in adv.choir for 3 yrs. Thanks for the info didn't know that was how he got in this div.
everyone please keep coming to this page. There are moms and other members who don't "do" facebook and they will be looking for support here. Some of them are here just reading posts who are too shy to post anything their selves so they rely on what they read here to get them through this experience. If you want some great facebook groups here are the ones I have seen the most activity on. Also remember some group are closed and some are not. You should never post any private info or ship movement, Sailor travel details on any page or group no matter if it is private, closed or open. Always be safe and keep your Sailor safe.
