I'm very crafty and have pay pal and was thinking of making ribbons for everyone if you send me like a dollar per ribbon you needed. I'd need to start pretty soon, and if their PIR changes, I'm willing to mail them.
My boyfriend is Ship 11 Division 252. I already have my airplane tickets, and have yet to get a hotel room. His recruiter told me it's safe to buy the tickets now because there is as much chance now of failing as week 8 when they hit battle station's.
So if you want one, get in contact with me and I'll get it rolling.

Hi it does seem like forever between the letters at least his last letter sounded like things were getting better he sounds more proud of himself...
Hi all, my son is also in ship 11, div 252. I have not received a call yet but he wrote that he tried once during that week they all got 2 minutes. He said it took one and a half minutes just to connect with the calling card and then he hung up after 3 rings. :( I am in CA and get my letters on Thursdays. So far, my son has had a wisdom tooth pulled and been sick one day (my guess is from the shots). He was made a section leader but I don't know if he still is. He was disappointed that they failed their first inspection. Sounds like they're all doing better now. I'll believe it when I get that call!
I hope that none of you from Colorado were affected by the shooting in Aurora.
Hi NavyFam, my son said the same thing about the call, except ours connected, but he couldn't hear me : - ( . We've been getting mail on Thursdays too, I've seen where other divisions are starting to get mail more days, but I don't think 252 is ... bummer. My son got permanent damage when they pulled his wisdom teeth, been sick with the ricky crud. He said he got a promotion, and a collar device, but didn't say exactly what it was for. He's also a "stick" ...supposed to carry an earned flag at PIR.
We are on vacation and its killing me not being at home to get his letter today! I truly hope they are pulling it together!
Wow, what kind of permanent damage? I can't imagine they'd pull a wisdom tooth without a good reason. I think my son's was impacted anyway and needed to come out. And what's ricky crud?
Hope you can enjoy the rest of your vacation!
Hi Ladies,
Wednesday was my day to receive my sons letters, but nothing yesterday, total bummer!! Hoping it was just a glitch and will get one today. He sounds so positive, he's 11/251 and says that he knows everyone's last name in his division which is awesome. He is excited for A school because a few of the guys will be going too so he'll know some peeps already. He says the food is not bad at all and can eat all he wants.... In his letter dated July 5, he had mono and some infection they had him on some drugs, his next letter didn't mention anything so I'm assuming that he feeling good and on track to graduate. Still no calls but at least positive letters. He sent out four last week, one to his favorite cousin, girlfriend, sister and me :) One of the things he did like is that I copied and pasted a word find in his letter and he liked that, just in case you would like to try it.
So to all you mom's we say it to them so I'll say it to you Stay Strong and Stay Focused only a few more days until we see our baby's...
Have a good week,
Joyce
I have a question for all the moms in Div 252. My son told me that one of his friends caught a virus right around July 4 and was discharged because of it. Have any of you heard of that? Or was he mistaken and this guy was just held back to a new group? My son was so afraid of being discharged that when he did get sick, he refused to tell anyone! Have any of your SRs mentioned anything like that? Not having a phone call is driving me nuts. Love this forum, but I can't take my eyes off it.
Gretchen
No my son did not mention this I have not heard of anyone being discharged because they were sick either I bet he was just held back in another group but who knows right? I would love to have a phone call but I dont think that is going to happen....
Hi Gretchen,
I received a letter from my son dated July 5, he said he had mono and an infection they had him on four different meds. Today's letter said he doesn't think he had mono cuz he felt better after a week. He was SIQ (Sick in Quarters) so he had to stay in bed for a week. He said he fine know and still on schedule to graduate on 8/17, he is 11/251. So maybe he had more than a virus or one they couldn't treat??
I haven't received a call yet either but as long as I keep getting positive letters from him I'm good. Can you imagine all the questions we would ask if they called often :)
Have a good week, stay positive and stay strong,
Joyce
Thanks to both of you! I had a feeling he was being dramatic. He was really paranoid about being discharged after the first week when div 252 dropped from 110 to 80. I think he's doing really well, but he takes all the stories and scare tactics very seriously. I'll let you all know when I hear from him!
I got a phone call yesterday just as I was getting on an airplane. Right before I took off!! But I got 11 minutes before they made me shut it off. Then came the waterworks. The poor lady sitting next to me was patting my arm as I was sitting there crying. Happy tears, but I miss him. He got to call is girlfriend after me and got another 11 minutes with her so I'm sure his day was MADE!!!! He sounded so good and strong and calm. Much better than that 59 second phone call that ripped both our hearts out! 19 days ladies!!!! ...and gentlemen. ;)
