Got our letter today.  So happy to see my son's writing on that envelope.  Now just waiting for the first letter from him. Just thought I would start a place for discussions for all the love ones of those in Ship 7 Div 259 and Div 260.

I have gotten a letter since last Thursday either.  I keep checking my phone. lol  hopefully...............soon

Okay, well that makes me feel better that I'm not alone! Lol, and yeah I take my phone everywhere, even to the bathroom because I'm not missing that call for anything!

We haven't gotten a letter since last Wednesday either and we had received them a couple of times the week before.

I feel like he got to write more in the beginning compared to now, which is weird because after being there awhile they earn more writing days. I hope he didn't get in trouble for writing me during the week in the beginning. No letter today :( So hopefully tomorrow!!!

Well, I got a couple of letters today. One dated the 16th and the other the 19th. They weren't postmarked until the 23rd though. I'm pretty discouraged right now. His letters were really down. Mostly because he told me that their unit still hasn't come together. There are about 15 guys who are really doing well and giving it everything they have. The ohters are really doing a number on the division. He said that the RDC has been holding mail and the phone calls that they were supposed to receive dwindled to 10 minutes. That was last Tuesday's phone call, so my guess is they lost their phone calls all together.

I am really feeling bad for him. He was so upbeat and wanted to really succeed. It sounds like him and a number of others are in the same boat (ha ha) and are really feeling the pain because there are people who don't care about succeeding. He even told me that he had gotten a 5.0 on one of his tests, but the entire unit got dinged so his perfect score isn't perfect. Urgh!

He finally had to go to sick bay and get musinex, eye drops, couph drops for his bug.

Sorry for the pesimistic post. I am just really feeling bad for him right now; I really thought we would get a call or something, but I guess not. Also- in the letter dated the 19th, he did say they were up to 25 minutes in the evening that they are allow to read and write letters so I guess that's a plus.

Where do you see the postmarked date on the letters? I try reading it but it's so blurry. And that is AWFUL about holding letters!! :( That makes me terribly sad. I haven't gotten a letter today, hoping for one tomorrow. Thanks for the update!!

Which division is your son in GoNavy?  I just want to cry right now.  No letter came today for me.  My son, Nick, is in the 259.  His last letter was dated 15 July.  Nick said the whole unit was sick but he was getting better each day. He also said that they had a test on Friday (guessing the 13th) and everyone passed and they get to carry around a flag now. (whatever that means but he sounded like it was a good thing.  Ugh this is so hard, the not knowing anything!!

My bf is in division 259, his name is Richard. My last letter was dated July 15 too. No letter today :( Hoping for one tomorrow. And it is definitely hard! I keep feeling nauseous lately because I'm so stressed out!!

We finally got more letters today, so dukelvr hopefully you'll get letters tomorrow.  Psssst01, I think GoNavy's recruit is in 260.   My son said they had been so busy that he hadn't had time to write and that they had not been getting their mail either, because, he said, they were too busy.  I don't know if he is sugar coating it or not but I think they do get alot busier the further along they get.  Not getting to write has bothered my son but I have told him I would rather he sleep or rest instead of writing.  Dukelvr, he told me if they do well on their inspections and PFA this week, they will get calls so hopefully you'll get something in the next week or so.  He also told me when Battle Stations will be but I don't think I am suppose to post that date so if you don't get that information from you bf this week or you just want to know sooner, message me here and I'll let you know.

So are they holding their mail too?? I hope they get it soon...I've sent him a lot of letters. They wouldn't hold it for too long, would they? And yeah, I hope he tells me something about Battle Stations, I'm pretty curious.

I sent you a friend request because I am dying to know when Battle Stations are.  I hope I will get a letter tomorrow.  Not sure he would think to mention stuff like that anyway.  I usually have to pry things out of him.  He graduated from high school this past May.  One of his friends went Navy too.  He left for BC on June 11 but is coming home tomorrow.  He was released on medical :(  I cried!

Yay letter came today!!!  Feeling so much better today:)
