OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Just got home! LONG weekend, but so absolutely wonderful! Thank you all for everything! :) Was also wondering if the awesome ladies I sat next to were on here, by chance? One's son was going to Pensacola, he played the bass drum in 941? :)
So excited to be joining the Navy family after talking to everyone. Hope everyone got enough time with their sailors! <3

Thank you so much for all your help in getting us through these past few weeks. I don't know what I would have done with all the support from all the other moms. Thank you again!

Ok, ladies, now time to give us our report cards!  Did we give any incorrect info?  Was there extra info we did not give you that we should have?  Tell us how we can do it better in the future PIR groups....we want to give accurate info!
Thanks and congrats to your sailors!  Good Morning!

Ok I posted this earlier but must not have gone through. We drove from Va to Great Lakes for PIR. The long trip was well worth it. We stayed at the Navy Lodge and everything was perfect. We went to Sarges meet and greet an all I can say is, what a blessing him and his wife are to all these families he takes care of. Everything he told us was on the money. Everything the admin. On this website do is amazing. What a blessing it is to have people to pay it forward. May God bless each and everyone of you. Thank you from Sailor Brown family

You are very welcome, CodysMom! And yes, you will love that you are back in contact with him now.  More like he is away at college!
