For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

My son is on ship 12 Div 264. He arrived at RTC on June 30 got the box on July 3 got a call from him Sat July12 best call of my life.(Im am Army 23 yrs you would think i could handle this LOL) but I have not received my form letter. Anyone in this division receive their form yet???

NavyMomma, are you going to use Ship 9 or ship 12 when you write. I have sent 2 letters using ship 12 but now Im not sure if I should go back to ship 9 or not.

NavyMomma: Hmmmm, I'm surprised that if you gave them your form letter info, including password, that they couldn't confirm. Buzt, yes, all mail is forwarded and will eventually get there. Hope someone can confirm it to you soon!

Thank you, diannep, for your suggestion. I did call RTC, and even though they could not give me any information on whether or not Ship 9 (Div 264) had been changed to Ship 12, they did say that "if" there ever was a change in "Ship" numbers that we parents can be assured that the mail would continue to be forwarded to the right Division.

NavyMomma90: You can call RTC to check on that. Their number is 847 688 2405. They will ask you for identification info but should be able to tell you if that division moved from Ship 9 to 12.

Does anyone know for sure whether or not Ship 9, Div 264 has changed to Ship 12, as suggested by someone earlier? Anyone else have a son/dau in this division? :) I have only seen one other person so far. I have a son in that Division.

Got our second call home from our Son he is in Ship 03 Div 261 he said he is having a good time for what he is doing knowing that its just a short time to be in basic. We are so Proud of him. He sounds great and we all were here so he got to talk to all of us. He is getting lots of mail he said. We can't wait to see him. Love that he sound good makes it much easier on us for sure.
