N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I have a question maybe someone can give me some insight.  My daughter is Ship 03 Div 261. in the last week I have gotten 3 calls 2 due to medical issues and Yesterday wanting to come home.  Will they really let them come home?  I told her she wasn't going to quit and she needed to stick with it, figuring it is only because she is home sick and really just in her first week of boot camp since the first week and half was processing.  I have recruited all her friends and suggested they write her some encouraging words, I hate to see her blow this great opportunity she has. She stated before hanging up she was going to go talk to the Chaplin in the next 2 days and it would probably take 2-3 weeks to get processed out to come home.  I can't believe they will let her quit just like that. Any advise from ya'll or insight as to what to do.  I admit it is hard for me too but I want her to complete this.

Good Morning All !

Ladies, ellen will be starting up brother division discussion groups soon on this page....they will appear in a Forum at the top of the page.  There, you can chat with others who have SRs training with yours, but be sure to stay on this main page as well for info!  Please bring any info from the division groups here to this page, especially questions, so we can help.  Your N4Moms veterans are on about 7-9 PIR groups at once so we don't always have time to make it through the division discussions on a regular basis.

When ellen starts the group discussions, she will post on here so you are aware!  Should be soon!

Hello! Sorry I'm late joining in :-)

FireTeamLeaderWife here!

My Sailor PIR’d on 05/26/2011. He is a Seabee Reservist. I am now a Retired AF Reservist wife (30 years)…I know …not Navy…but I am familiar with military life! We have been through two Deployments…one right after 9/11 and one in 2011.

Our son enlisted while Hubby was in Iraq. This site was a Godsend and helped me get through not only our sons BC experience but my husbands and my separation for 6 months.

I am a “veteran” mom on the PIR groups mostly. I have been on them now since 2011 and we have 7-8 PIR groups running at the same time.

I've been out of the loop for about six months or so...but hope to be able to pop in and lend support any way I can.

Blessings to you all and Welcome!

RooHoo,

Hope your SR daughter and the other SR is the same rating and will go to the same A school--it makes it easier for them to keep in touch!

TracyP,

Just so you know, SR stands for Seaman Recruit, not Sailor Recruit~~  :)

I'm looking to find Mom`s in my son`s division ship 11 Div 256
Comment by diannep on July 13, 2014 at 10:19pm

USNwife/momMary:  Maybe Ship 9 had to undergo maintenance so they moved the division to Ship 12?  That is the only thing I can figure.

My girl is Ship 03 Div 261. Received 2nd personal call just a short time ago. Says she made life-long friends with this girl from Arizona (I could not hear her name as my cellphone was breaking up). Go Navy

Comment by ProudMomInFL on July 13, 2014 at 9:10pm

I got to talk to my recruit for about 15 min today. How is it possible that after just 2 weeks he sounds so much more mature???
