~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Has anyone received a personal letter other than the formatted initial letter?

Bensma,

If you go to the "Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones)" (do a search under Groups above, they have a page called "What Does ??? Mean? in their Pages Section~~  It is very complete.  For some reason, the Navy Speak here on the left is missing alot of common terms...

Comment by CatMom509 on July 9, 2014 at 4:06am

diannep,

Your friend Rosanna must have been comforted very much when she heard our God reassure her that He had her Kelsie in heaven with Him--she is right in saying that none of us can be guaranteed a place in heaven unless one has Jesus Christ in their heart!!   It's a very important decision that should be made by many in this world!  It is a narrow road and not a place where everyone gets in, as is mistakenly believed.  We don't live in little compartments either that shut out what others are going through...People should care about others~~

Prayers for more comfort and peace for this family and all the others involved in this accident~~  <></   (((diannep)))  HUGS to you~~  I know you feel so badly for your friend...

My daughter is ship 02 div 941 she left on June 25th waiting for that phone call from her.  Having moments of panic when i realize i walked away from my cell phone.  Thinking i might need to duct tape it to my hand.

We just received the form letter yesterday.  My son is 14/260. I hope I have that correct.

Bohunkus, my daughter is also 11/255. We received her call last Saturday, which was a pleasant surprise. She did say she was on light duty because she has had pneumonia. I wasn't able to get a lot from her about how the division was doing. Her little sister talked to her most of the time. I have to wait for a letter telling us she was approved to go back. Glad to hear that the Division is doing well!

I also got a couple of quick calls this morning for information. It was wonderful to hear his voice, but I really wish we were able to "talk". He did say that he was doing well and might get to make a social call on Saturday.
