Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello Everyone, My daughter is in Ship 11 Division 255. I got my first call from her this past weekend and was so relieved to hear her voice. She let me know she and everyone in her Division were doing great. Hope all the other SRs are too.

Update on Div 259.
I did NOT get a social call from my son, but they had him call me because they needed some information for paperwork. They did let me talk to him for ONE minute.
He said they haven't started a lot of training because they are still finishing up processing. He did not know when they would be able to make their social call and said that some started getting mail.
Just wanted to share as some divisions are getting to call earlier then expected.

The woman talking in this video is my good friend, Rosanna, the mother of the girl killed in the boating accident. I share this because Rosanna is a devout Christian. I am so proud of her....she was so destroyed when I went to see her just hours after they found the body of her 24 yr old daughter at a hospital....and now, she is speaking out....giving hope for others in their time of tragedy. My son met two girls at MEPS when they departed on 6/23 from AZ. They were looking out for one another, sat on the plane together and I would love to check in with their moms. One was from Parker and the other from Gilbert, I believe. Send me a private message if you are on here and read this. Thanks!

Just a reminder that ellen will be opening discussion groups above in a Discussion Forum soon for brother divisions, which are the two divisions training together---each is a brother division. There, you can meet others with SRs training with yours, but please be sure to stay on this main page here for lots of info!

Very very sad. Kelsie Karpiak was our close family friend, but our hearts ache for all killed in this horrible tragedy.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of that young 24 year old gal and all the other young people and the injured ones in the boating accidents.... Prayers of comfort from our God to all the families involved~~ That is sweet that you walked her pup Sandy. I'm sure that was a help for the family. ((HUGS))
