Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Got a call from my fiancé in division 941. He said that they all passed the tests! Can't wait for the "I'm a sailor" call! :)

Well, it won't be an I'm a Sailor call that you would miss this weekend, Soccermom....and doubtful she would be able to call for any other reason....so I think you are safe at the lake with poor cell service! As long as you have good cell service starting next week, you are good to go!

Thank you diannep I appreciate the info. I have become a hermit for 9 weeks, in fear of missing a call. Our cell phone service is awful in my area. I guess I can spend a day at the lake and not worry about missing her call.

Soccermom: I think your call will come a day or two later than you think next week! Next BattleStations will be Monday night, I believe.
Captains Cup in the morning for this group! Lots of athletic fun competition between divisions!

Diannep thank you for the info. I thought that would be the day. We will be on the road to Greak Lakes. Thank you for all your help. Even though I have 24 yrs of Army service this site has been amazing. Navy does a good job getting info out for the families.
Congrats to all that got the Sailor call. We all will be seeing our Sailors soon. God Bless and safe travel mercies to all.
