N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks hellraiser78382. Please stay strong. I know you will get your letter any day now. My daughter mentioned the tension between girls. She asked me to please send motivating and encouraging letters.

I am so excited!I received my daughter's first letter yesterday but she stopped in the middle of a story. I thought she ran out of time but today I received an additional 9 pages! I'm guessing she just needed 2 envelopes to send 19 pages. She said there are a few girls in the group who are causing problems, talking and laughing and that makes them all have extra PT.

Comment by leeannemh on July 17, 2015 at 4:04pm

Yes my daughter in Div 284 said they were having to do lots of workouts for being noisy and not listening. She is pissed off about it, but I was encouraged that she is focused on the group and not herself as much.  She misses her music and her alone time but then she turned around and said it wasn't that bad. These are all growing pains and I know this first couple of weeks is TOUGH. They are going to come together!!

Hi Juzmom. You are right, I'm hoping the same, once PT gets to them, they really won't have the energy for anything but eating and sleeping. We'll just continue to encourage them and pray that it gets better for them all.

HazelNut thanks for the info, I haven't gotten my letter from her but i know i will soon, if her siblings got theres. Maybe She will let me know whats going on. I sure hope the kids who are acting fools grow up soon and stop making others lives miserable.

Attention!  Attention!  Attention on Deck! I GOT MY LETTER TODAY! So happy!

Hazelnut,

My daughter (division 286) said they had the same issue w her division. She said some of the girls are way to catty w girls in other divisios so they had their first PT punishment. She shared that the girls like to talk until they pass out each night, I ak happy because while they chat and cat it up my daughter writes me letters lol.

I am guessing as they get into PT more they will not have the energy to play catty or to stay up late chatting.
Comment by HazelNut Navy Mom on July 17, 2015 at 3:27pm
My daughter is in Div 284 and she did mention they were getting "beat" or punished because some of the girls aren't following directions and won't stop talking. She was frustrated over that, too. I hope they will overcome that and come together as a team. Praying and writing encouragement letters to her.
