Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 287 and 288

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My Son is in Div 287. Got a phone call today. He said the next call will probably be 2 weeks. He sounded great.

Hey 287 and 288 moms, I got a letter from my son this morning. He mentioned that his 287 division got the priviledge of singing cadence and marching on their own (he was very happy about that), though the brother 288 division didn't score high enough to march without RDC's. :(

He said for this week: Monday was gas chamber day, Tuesday was a PI inspection on dress uniforms, Wednesday (today!) divisional photos are taken and orders are given, Thursday is FEP Drill and Test 3 (I have no idea what FEP is).  And Friday is the day people get ASMO'D. :(   And of course Battlestations is around the corner and then a phone call!

He also asked for prayer...serious prayer from now til graduation....apparently something happened that he didn't want to go into details about....he asked for prayer that his graduation stay on track. So for any praying moms out there, we appreciate prayer for this....(not sure if it's my only or if others are at risk because he didn't go into details.)

Apparently on the 10th they had a drill inspection....287 got a 4.7  and 288 got a 4.2.  He also got a good score on Test 2. So lots of positives and always good to hear from him!!

FEP=Fitness Enhancement Program.

I am guessing he is talking about the final PFA since that would be the correct time frame for this group, and following up with the asmo'd statement it would fall in line. Friday would be the day that those not passing their final PFA would be sent to FIT, or asmo'd to a different PIR for additional training.

Thank you for that info!! hoping to get a letter today!  So miss my boy and didn't get anything last week.  Hoping that all the recruits are staying strong and positive!  My anxiety level is High...i am a constant worrier, trying to work on that :)

Our son is also in 287. . . I normally get my letters on Thursdays so I'll be looking forward to tomorrow's mail.  When we talked to our son last he was in good spirits.  It sounds like things are going in the right direction for 287.  Hoping they all passed their final PFA and made it thru the gas chamber ok. . . .

That gas chamber has got to be an uncomfortable experience, but as always, no news is good news...presuming they all recovered fine!

It looks like 288 won the Captain's Cup this week.  Grats!  The post is on the RTC Facebook.

I still have not received the 'I'm a Sailor' call, so I am guessing they haven't completed Battle Stations.  Does anyone know anything more?  I hate that graduation is just a few days away, and still not confirmed.

Stephenie, are you on the Facebook group for our PIR date? It's nice seeing all the updates from other families. I can PM you more information on 288 if you'd like.

No, but my son is in 287.  Just commented about 288 for the benefit of all, and to congratulate.  I will check to see if there is one for his division.  Thank you!

I have a Sailor!!! One proud mom.

You got a call?  I am still waiting, patiently but anxiously, if that is possible!  Did anyone else get the 'I am a Sailor' call yet?  My son is in 287.
