~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Smotherman Div 270
Just got a call from my Sailor in Ricky Heaven! WOO HOO! So thrilled to hear his voice and listen to him talk. I have forgotten what that is like! He is so happy! I cannot WAIT to see him again and hug him so tight! It's going to be the BEST day EVER!
He said that he got our pictures yesterday. He decided to ship them home, so hopefully they will get here soon.

Good Morning!
"And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know
times or seasons which the Father has put
in His own authority.' "
Acts 1:7
Matt'sMom: Any backpack he carries while in uniform must be solid black or navy, no insignias, writing, etc. Also, he will be in charge of keeping up with a large seabag and garment bag (uniforms)---both are checked but they cannot ask for help in carrying their luggage....and he will have his Navy-issued backpack as well. We don't encourage extra bags for the reason. But can take it with you, and see what happens at the airport----maybe he would have some room in his existing luggage to put these extras in there???? Although they are pretty tightly packed. I read the other day where one sailor was going to check his Navy-issued backpack too, so if your son did that, it would free up your son to have his civilian backpack. But again, there would be concern that he could manage all of this luggage by himself and the backpack itself must meet Navy guidelines. You can always ship it to him at A School!
Good Morning All !
