For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I had sent it back to DELL and they put a new hard drive in it but didn't put anything back on the computer, not even windows operating system. So I took it back to Best Buy again and they fixed everything and it seems to be working so far. I for sure got a lemon and I absolutely will never buy another DELL. I'm just glad to be able to get on this site again :)

Comment by diannep on August 13, 2014 at 9:34pm: christinaykol: He will have up until his BattleStations day to pass it before he would call you. The first divisions go through on the 21st (night)....the rest of the divisions will go through starting the 24th most likely. Even if he hasn't passed by his BattleStations date, he still can try every 48 hours through Wed of PIR week and still have a chance of being at his PIR. If he has not passed by then, he will stay in FIT and keep trying. He will miss his PIR in that case and not have another (they go with another division or PIR group to do BattleStations if they pass by Wed of PIR week....usually the night before PIR....so they are tired on Fri, but in uniform and most likely in the balcony rather than marching, but some manage to still march). Hope you do NOT get that call that he didn't pass (he will not call you if he passed by BattleStations, not until after BattleStations). Good Luck to your SR!

Comment by diannep on August 13, 2014 at 2:44pm: MattsMom: Not sure when your students come back, but maybe you could suggest to them to write letters to the SRs and you could mail them in a big envelope to your SR to pass out? Since PIR is right around the corner for you, it would have to be done early next week. Will school have started by then? You could have them write letters encouraging the SRs through BattleStations since this group will be starting those towards the end of next week, continuing during PIR week! Just a thought....the SRs love it! Sadly, they will probably not have time to write back since they are graduating, but I know they would love the encouragement! What grade do you teach?

My SR also spent time in my classroom volunteering until BC. Since this was also his elementary school, many of his former teachers are so excited for him. It's nice to have such love and support for his career choice.
