Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon. Perhaps you can share it with your SR in a letter now.

How blessed you are to have beat cancer twice and be able to encourage others in their health challenges! You're right! Your attitude in how you face challenges is the biggest part of overcoming. I personally also rely on God and Jesus~~

In this way, those in the medical field have better results from such patients~~ Hope is so important!

You've come to the right place for support from all us mommas!! Do you know where your SR is going to A school? There are also groups here relating to ratings (jobs), A schools, and regional groups for where you live~~ (HUGS) and welcome!!

Comment by diannep on August 12, 2014 at 6:56am: Tracey: Get to PIR early so you won't have to deal with the crowds. You will get a better selection of seats that way and should not have a problem getting a sailor with a wheelchair to help you. Hoping that you heal 100 percent and are feeling well for PIR! Also, if you drive to PIR, here is a hint:

On Buckley, main drag to RTC, stay to the left (car line on your right). Bypass RTC and turn around at/near the train station which is right past there. Head back to RTC from the opposite direction and it is an easy left turn onto the base. That should keep you from too much time sitting in the car in the car line!
