~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi there!
"I will lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2
YooperMom Your SR should have written in the password. If not, you will need to ask for it in your next letter. Only your SR knows this word. You need it for your PIR gate pass, which you download 11 days before PIR (usually).
I received the ltr today...no side notes or doodles. :P But there was also no password on it. I'm going to the Navy website next...is that where I would get it? Of course maybe if I actually READ the form ltr I would know what's going on. Nahhhh.....
my son is ship 12 division 327 - no letter yet but I called the recruiter because I believe he sent the letter to his dad (which is fine) but his dad hasn't felt like sharing these things with me - I have heard some rumors about their info not always being correct, so I hope he's right! I greatly appreciate his help! I'm glad to join this group and have something to look forward to! Thankyou whoever added me!
my son is ship 03 Div 327. arrived at BC on 7/2. I haven't received his letter yet, but called in a favor and got his address early from a MasCheif I know :) Sometimes their recruiter can get it for you if they are "with it" but so many recruiters are just into making their quotas and then washing their hands. I did get the box and I left it is his room after I took his clothes out, etc. His dog peed on it!! LOLOL guess his dog is rather opinionated about his master being away at BC hehehe
Iri the same thing happend to my husband he wasnt supose to leave until September but then his recruiter called him on the 25th of June and said hey the job opened that you wanted but you have to leave in two days :) so he left the 27th as well they are probably in the same group i was there on the 27th at meps to see him swear in and leave so I probably met your son and all the guys were great there that day so I look forward to meeting you and your family :)
Just another reminder to all to put that form letter in a safe place....you will need that password to download the PIR gate pass 11 days before PIR.
Good Morning All !
