N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

anxiouswife,

With the U.S. mail, any number of reasons can account for a delay, from the weather to a box of mail just sitting somewhere waiting to be processed.  I sent a couple of Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes at the same to my Sailor daughter and one made it on time and the other didn't arrive until 3 days later--with the contents spoiled!  Since I didn't insure them, I had no recourse.

Anxiouswife0417....my son wrote on Sunday, as most do I believe, and I got the letter on Thurs. I'm sure it will be a matter of time, don't be anxious, be patient, it will come, and it is worth the wait.

So can any of the veteran moms explain this whole flag thing to me? How do and when do recruits get flags, what are they for? Is there a website that lists them?

Good Morning All !

Iri,

Will pray that your SR's feet hurting is not anything out of the norm, just something he is not used to.  He needs to lace up his boots tight so they are not too loose that they are rubbing on his feet and causing blisters and sores~~

belovedbyHim.

You skip Saturdays, Sundays, and any federal holidays~~

Awww, so sweet he wrote his brother too and his brother allowed you to read the letter!  Everybody in my family just ran off with their own letters and would just share things like Daina needs more paper and self-addressed stamped envelopes!

Thanks so much everyone, labor was total of 16 hours but the first several were not bad at all. She only pushed for about 40 min and it was the first time I ever saw a baby being born other than on TV. It was amazing!!! I had 3 c-sections and until they held them up to show me all I was was a blue screen. I am so glad Phil told me to go early. He said it was a full moon and I should be there lol. He was so right :) We really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.

My mom has pneumonia and is still in ICU but my hubby says she looks much better this evening and I was able to talk to her on the phone. We sent lots of pics of the new baby to her and she is loving them :)
