N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks :) I went to the Dr with her today and still not ready, I probably came too soon but my hubby didn't want me trying to rush a 7.5 hour drive to get here and it gives me some time to help her get everything ready :)

Brandi you are still in the early stages and it will seem a little better as time passes. I think the reason it gets a little easier is because we get a little stronger. I will tell you other than boot camp and deployments the time simply flies by. I can't believe that three years ago today my Sailor graduated boot camp.

Good luck Lala! Exciting baby watch! Thank for cool pic!
Brandi hope your soul feels less anxiety praying for you too. I have a heavy heart today. I spoke twice to my son one was quick necessary paperwork but still his voice and then this past sat 15 min call I split with hubby! I was so excited I forgot so many questions too! Maybe we should keep a list of questions in case they call unexpected which is always! Lol then we might be more prepared!

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. I am now in VA Beach on Baby Watch :) I came a little early so I could help mt Sailor finish getting the nursery ready. Good thing my work travels pretty easily. It looks like I have moved in here lol. They may need to build me a craft room lol, I was able to go out and get some pics of the Truman as it left :)

I can testify to the advantages of having your home phone on forward to your cell.  After I missed the first call I put our home phone on forward to my cell.  My hubby was just complaining about it on Saturday morning and asked me to take it off.  If I had I would have missed his call!!!!  I'll take my phone off forward when we get back from PIR but NOT before!!  Keep your phone handy, Your hope high and your mind busy.  Praying you all get phone calls soon

It is so hard to see others getting calls when some of you are not yet.  You are so happy for those ladies, but sad for yourself of course.  Calls are totally random, even within the same division.  There are so many reasons why a SR in a division didn't call home when others in the division did....had a dental/medical/security info appt, was on light duty/SIQ when division went, maybe that SR lost their call for doing something incorrectly, etc.  Just try to have the phones close by whenever possible.  If you think your SR may call the home phone and you will be gone, forward to your cell if possible.  You really become "prisoners" to the phone during bootcamp, but it is well worth it when the call comes in!

Hoping all get that call soon!

Good Morning!

Kittygal12- I'm glad they have you on here.  I know how stressed i was waiting to hear anything about how my SR was doing.  Even though not all his news was happy I was so relieved to hear from him.  Praying that her SR gets to call this week and ease her worries.  I know it helped me.
