Was very surprised to get a letter in the mail today. It was written Tuesday. My son is starting to get the cold that is going around, but indicated that he did not want to go to sick call because he did not want to miss anything. This week he said they have been working on seamanship. He said the Division is starting to come together after the RDC'S quit on them Saturday...what ever that means ?!?! He said it continues to be be warm and the camo uniforms make things hotter. The have some big inspection coming up, including handling a 9mm pistol. Keeping them all in my prayers that it's just a passing 24 hour bug that does not turn into something more like some of the other divisions.

I really hope they manage to come together soon because teamwork is the key to Battle Stations.  I have faith that they will and as soon as I know the date my blue candle will be shining in my window and my prayers will be with them all.

Hello Ship 11 Div 281..welcome aboard!! Im a Navy Mom counting down the days as you are to see my son graduate. Gonna be a tear jerker..but so proud of them "all". My son is the "leader" of this division..and I know he has looked out for everyone's wellbeing according to his letters. We are coming from Augusta, Ga Wed. 31st..and will be attending the Meet Greet at the Ramada 6-8..Hope to see you there to celebrate our brave sons and daughters..

Good morning all-Happy Friday- received another letter (finally) yesterday after not hearing from him since the Wednesday phone call and he is doing well. From the sounds of his letter, the Navy is making him grow up and become a man. I can't wait to see the changes in him physically also. They have been very busy according to him. They took their second test on Wednesday. I guess the cold is all gone- he had it when he called- I asked if he was going to medical and he said it wasn't bad enough to do that (which I was relieved to hear). Said he knocked over a minute off his run that they are required to do as part of their training and he passed his push-ups, the only area he hadn't prior. I am so very proud of him. I hope everyone received a letter from their recruit this week too. I'm counting the days until I can see him as I am sure all of you are. Have a great weekend. :-)
I received a letter today too, written last Friday and Monday.  It sounded like parts of Hell Week were pretty rough - especially Marlinspike.  He said they got an hour of I.T. after that.  But he said as a Division they are coming together better.  Sounds like they are all healthy again.  He said he has muscles his friends would be jealous of..lol  And yep...I'm counting down those days too!
