N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Another reason that sometimes divisions change ships is if their ship needs to undergo some maintenance.  With Bootcamp ongoing throughout the year, it is the only way they can get regular maintenance done.  By the way, the ships are "brick buildings" but inside, they try to mimic to an extent the way the ship is....although their racks at Bootcamp are a bit more spacious than their racks on a ship....

MsDiva:  No worries.....they do not "asmo" entire divisions....meaning setback.....so like ellen said, if anything, individuals will be asmoed, but the division will graduate on time!  They are threatened, however, that the division may NOT finish---to motivate them to work well as a team....the only way that would happen is if every single SR was discharged or asmoed in that division....won't happen!

My son also said that he got a job and is responsible for writing the daily schedule on the board. What does this mean and does it have a title to it?
Comment by ellen0502 on July 25, 2015 at 2:04pm

Need to add...It will be all of division 296, and its brother division 295 that move.

Comment by ellen0502 on July 25, 2015 at 2:03pm

If your recruit has let you know they are moving, or have moved to Ship 06, they are moving to Ship 06.

It isn't unusual for divisions to change ships during training, and there have been several other divisions in other TGs, prior to this one, that have already made the same move. No worries!

Ship 06 is the ship that, in the past, has handled overflow, and with the TG after yours, and another already coming in, there is approx 70 divisions and somewhere around 6400 recruits currently in training, it is being put to use. :)

Send your mail to the new address since they have already moved. Mail sent to the old address will be tossed on over to the new ship, it will be the division number that lets them know to do that.

Again, no worries everyone...this move is a common one right now!

I just got a call from my son in division 295. Others in that division be ready. It came up as a number with an 847 area code. He had about 15 minutes. Said he could possibly get a call each Saturday if the company behaves.
