N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

JTD'sMom,

Prayers for your SR!!  He will find a chain of command anywhere he works and when he graduates college, so he can't get away from it.  He even has to respect you and his dad as his parents as his personal chain of command.  And an Eagle Scout??  He went through a chain of command to earn his Eagle Scout status!!

Boot Camp is the strictest it will ever be so far as military bearing goes.  I actually wish A school and being at one's duty station would still have the proper military bearing--too much slacking off in my opinion!!  I hope he realizes that proper respect is essential here.

May he realize that the Navy way IS for him and next time you hear from him, he will have changed his attitude~~

Diannep so nice to have this forum where we can encourage and support one another. I celebrate with those of us who receive letters and phone calls and compassionate towards those who are waiting. All of the recruits have a peice of my heart. United we stand divided we fall. God bless our recruits and may they find rest for their weary souls till we see them again. That day will come and we will rejioce and be glad. Navy Proud Moms!

JTD'sMom, my daughter is in ship 12 division 276 as well. She sounded very tired and missing home. They are in an intergrated division and train together. She didn't say she wanted to quit, but was definitely weary. Sounds like our kids have a tough RDC. We just need to keep encouraging! lol be praying for their division!

My SR sounded good at first tonight... Then her voice started cracking. Said she was just really glad to hear our voices. Guess she is getting homesick now. Thank you for whomever posts the prayer for our sailor recruits. I pray that everyday ... Throughout the day . She is strong, I know she will get through this. Counting down the days! I was not expecting a call this weekend at all...Thank you God for another blessing today and keep protecting and lifting up my SR!

Hubby got a phone call and even had 15 minutes!  I was out at the time but hubby said my son is loving it.  He said the PT was easy (he spent a year working out) but learning the ships was killing him.  He's grateful for the letters and said he didn't have time to write back.  I had to laugh when hubby said my son has never felt so exposed before for showers and using the head.  He's getting along with the division and said people were working better together.  Keeping his uniform neat is killing him.  LOL.  He said he spends all his time trimming off threads and hates it.

Thanks CatMom509. My son is already an E3 but having the title and making his retired Navy grandfather proud is what he sees as the reward. Although I know he is proud either way! I just wish I could talk more often and coach him through the ups and downs like I always have..kinda sucks not having that!!

My son is in Ship 2 Division 943, haven't heard a peep yet since he left.  No call, no letter yet.  And yes, I am complaining... actually whining about it now!  lol!  Anyone else with kids in this division that have heard?
