DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Everyone gets calls of varying times depending on how well the division is doing~~  So just receiving a call is just the best thing!!

SHIP 14/DIV 273.  Received my call this morning and have been on cloud nine ever since. It's amazing how hearing their voice can put a mom in such a good mood. :)  I also got the run down on what he's been doing.  He seems to be on "watch" a lot. He sounded great!!  The next couple weeks will be grueling but he's doing GREAT!!!  Stay strong Navy Moms!!!

Ship 13/Div 277: Received my call this morning while shopping at Menards. Found a bed and sat down...lol! My son is the Division Leader (so PROUD) and he's losing his voice from yelling the commands so I kept the call fairly short. He said he is doing well. A little tougher than expected but he's ready for it. He said he sleeps well and the food is good. Swimming starts Monday and he may need to have his wisdom teeth pulled...TBD after xrays. So glad for the call, I could tell in his voice that things are good!! I am just 20 minutes down the road from Great Lakes but not any easier as a Mom!

Got a phone call this morning and the form letter in the mail today! So excited he sounded really good and said he was getting along great and it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be! He's in ship 13 div 278! Can't wait until 9/5!!

One more thing (since we were fortunate enough to get a 20 minute call- we could ask him some things and talk a bit)  for anyone who doesn't get a chance to talk on the phone: I specifically asked him how his division seems and is anyone struggling, to his knowledge he said everyone with him seemed to be doing ok!  :-)
