Hello All!

I have 8 greeting cards that I am working on sending out to my husband to pass out in his division. I will be asking him to pass these out to SR's in his division that are needing extra support, or who aren't receiving letters from home. I need YOU guys to help! I am collecting "signatures" to add in the cards. (eg:I know that you can do this, and I believe in YOU! -Mrs. Beth, proud mom of two Navy sailors) Please use only your first name for security reasons on this site. I will be copying and pasting all of the signatures onto a single letter and include that in each card. I am also working on getting calling cards for all these SR's through the website that was posted earlier. That way each SR will receive a few calling cards, notes of wisdom and encouragement from all of us, and a card for it to be all wrapped up in. I will also be including a carefully worded note to the RDC so that when he/ she inspects it they will understand what purpose the cards are for and I will not get my SR into any trouble. Thank you all very much for any "signatures"!! I hope that I will inspire others with SR's in other divisions to do the same. I know my hubby's division has some SR's that are having an especially hard time and could stand to get a little encouragement! Please post your "signatures" here or private message them to me. Thank you very much!!

You are more than welcome to do it for your SR's division :) let me know and I will e-mail the "signatures"

Dear SR:

Hi.  My name is Patrice and I am a N4M.  My son shipped on May 15 and graduated 7/13.  I have received a several phone calls from him for paperwork and numerous letters since he left.  In each of those brief contacts he said how much he wanted letters.  N4M is a very tight group. It is basically a blog of SR moms, girlfriends, wives, etc. - who are trying to share information about basic training and navy life.  We are also dedicated to supporting each other and all the SR’s, which is why I am writing to you today.  If you could read our blogs you would see firsthand the camaraderie, and how very proud we are of all of you who have made this commitment to serve our country.  You are true heroes in all of our eyes and our collective hearts go out to each of you.  You may not think you are special but it takes a special type of person to make such a commitment-we know that from our family members who have served in the past, as well as those that are embarking on that journey now.  We want to let you know that we are here for you!

One thing that I was not prepared for was the first time I talked to my son. He seemed little scared and overwhelmed.  He confirmed this in his first letter when he told me, “Mom, you don’t know how many times those first few weeks I wanted to quit”.  This was a big surprise for me because my son played college hockey, is older than a lot of the other SR’s, and had lived away from home for several years.   Now graduation has come a nd gone and he is loving A School.  I know if he could talk to you he would say that everything you are feeling is normal.   He said what helped him was his position on ship staff, writing letters, going to church services, and remembering to stay focused on why he decided to join the Navy.   I hope that helps.  We do know how  hard this is for you; and being mother’s ourselves it is tuff not being able to step in, give you a hug, and tell you it will be okay-but whatever the outcome, it will be okay and so will you.

Sincerely. Patrice (Indymom)

My daughter is Ship 2 Div943. I'm in as long as she doesnt get in trouble.

Send me a private msg and I will send you the responses if you'd like. From what I have learned they will not be punished for this. But I would advise you to add a note to the RDC. I sent mine off today
