OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ellen0502 the mail lady was an hour and a half late. She just dropped off his form letter confirming Ship 14/ Division 351 with a PIR date of 9/20/13.

I noticed that some of the other mom's or girlfriends have been getting calls in the same divison as my SR on Saturday or Sunday.

I remember him memtioning before he left that he would be needing his wisdom teeth removed so maybe that is why I haven't received a call as well as many others.

No, no form letter yet. This is just the info his recruiter looked up this morning so I know it could very well be incorrect. Mail has already run today so maybe tomorrow I'll get it and it will confirm what his recruiter told me or prove him wrong. I was really hoping both he and his gf woul graduate on the same date since her parents can't attend. Maybe that will still be the case.

JDSMom, I see you are asking about 09/20 PIR. Did you get the form letter confirming division and PIR date? If you have received the form letter let me know and I will get the next PIR group started.

Division discussion groups will be started as soon as the RTC confirms the divisions for this TG. I am hoping it will be soon. :)

Heather, I did not receive a call either. A bit concerned, but from what I hear no news is good news! It will be a long week then I will sit by the phone again next weekend.

Samiamsmom - My son is also in Ship 11 Div 346. He also was doing very well when he called on Saturday. You are the only other Mom I've seen in same division. Any others out there????

does anyone know if there has been a group started for division 345, yet? I heard it may happen but haven't found one.

Hi Everyone, I got the letter last Thursday, Ship 11 Div 346.  I'm so excited for it. Got a call Saturday, I was so lucky to be able to talk with my SR.  She sounded great! Very upbeat, she's making friends and working hard and sounded like she's happy to be there.  Whew!  I'm so relieved that I didn't get one of those calls with upset kid, I'm not sure I could have held it together.  God Bless you all, and see you at PIR.

Our son called on Saturday and I missed the call!  I have been glued to the cell phone since he left just hoping to hear his voice.  I left the phone for 1/2 hour and wouldn't you know it...  That is when he called.  Okay, here is the weird part, he sounded fantastic and said he was having "FUN".  Boot camp...   FUN??? I couldn't tell if he was trying to make me feel good or not but he really did sound awesome.  I've already sent a letter and I'll send another one today.  Hope he calls again and I actually get to talk to him!
