I am having a hard time locating the form letter from my SR that has the password to get our gate pass. Any suggestions as to what I should do???
Kelly, I'm not sure if all the pass words are the same, in fact, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be. Check with Diannep or FTLW- send them a personal message, they'll see it faster. I will check my form when I get home and see what it says about "losing" it.
Actually, wouldn't the password have changed since she changed Divisions?
Kelly: She changed divisions within the same PIR group or came from another PIR group? Your SR should have the password so be sure to write her and ask her to make sure she has it for you when she calls again....or writes to you. She is the one who had to write it in.
She came from a different PIR group. Do you have to have the gate pass simply to get in or is it to DRIVE in?
When your son calls ask him or write to him for password. My form letter never came so i did not get one I called everyone and the answer I got was that only he can give it to me so he wrote it in a letter.
When my son sent the form letter it did not have a password. I asked him to check on this for me. He said he asked a couple guys what it was they said it was the same. I'm not really sure about this????? But that's all I have to use. Maybe you can get it from a couple different people just to make sure. If you want to know what he give me just send me a message. Not sure if I helped you any. : /
If you are not driving in you do not need the gate pass.
Okay...lets try and "wrestle this and tie it all up".
IF your SR was in another PIR originally, you would have the Form Letter with the Vehicle Gate Pass Password on it. (This is what you are trying to locate, your original Form Letter?) So, your SR was setback to this PIR...had an earlier PIR date? You need the original password from the original Form Letter. Then you may call PAO Phone: Public Affairs Office 847-688-2405) and they will give you the password for this PIR. This is the only time they ever give out passwords...when a recruit has a change in PIR dates...and you must have the original password. That is how they know you "belong" to that date and that you are who you say you are...since the password is confidential...and should be kept that way. That is why only your recruit can get you that info if it simply wan't provided in the Form Letter or if you lose the Form Letter.....like jenn's son did.
As ellen said the Vehicle gate pass is not needed if you do not plan on driving onto RTC. If you aer taking the shuttle to PIR then they drop you off and you walk in. If you take a taxi back in the evening (IF your SR is going back to RTC. If going to GL TSC for A school then they would be returned oevr there in the evening) again your recruit would have to be dropped off at the gate and walk in. It is a looooong walk...so provide ample time. On time...is late.
Thank you so much FTLW! I will call today!
Ugh...I can't get through. It's a recording and asks me to leave a message, which I recorded, but then it wants an extension number - which I don't know. Grr.. frustrating.
I just sent an email to PAO on the Navy website. There is a drop down list of topics, and Gate Passes was one of them. Hopefully, this will work.
