Hello.  I'm the mom of an SR in this division.  Anyone on here have children in the same division?  This is my second experience with the military.  My son is a Marine.  My mom and I are planning our trip to Great Lakes and are just looking around on this site for helpful information and tips.  So far, we've found a ton of info!  You all are the best!  Anyway......thanks.

Good Morning Ladies

Lindagr41, my son is going to be a CTT and will be going to (Corry Station)-Pensacola for traning.

I normally get letters Thursday, so here's hoping I get one.  A friend of mines got a letter yesterday (he's writing everyone who writes him) I'm so proud of my SR.

I always get mine too every thursday!

Anyone from Ship 12 DIV 295 getting phone calls from their SR? SR Mat wrote that he has gotten his pictures taken (And looks mighty fine lmbo) and has several picture that are going to be in the Division yearbook. Can parents purchase the yearbook?

My daughter hasn't mentioned having her picture taken......I sure hope she orders some for me!!

I did once, but it was an emergency call. Then my SR told me he called me one monday but i havent had the chance to answer it :( My fiance is from ship 12 div 295 too :)

My SR hasn't said anything either, but if he do I'll let you know.  I'm not sure if you can purchase one PIR or not.

Great thanks.  My son is a Marine and he said that we would have been able to order more.  I just HAVE to have an 11 x 14 of my daughter to hang next to my son's picture!!

I spoke to my son and followed up with email  to have him buy the package and send home..  previously this group adviced this so you don't stand in line after PIR  it can be a very long line.   And they can take money from their pay...

i just called number listed and the woman said they won't take from his pay and would accept a check if the check had his name on it...but it might be too late for me to mail it to him and have him pay in advance...I wish I had know I would have sent him with a debit card

I got a letter today. I was getting worried why  he hadn't called and asked him in the last letter I wrote him. He said in his letter that there are a few in their division that aren't "getting it" and it didn't matter if a few excelled, the whole division had to improve their average, and that is why they have not been able to call home.  Also said that getting his wisdom teeth pulled wasn't that bad...I'm glad to hear that.:)

youtube.com  has a lot of videos about Great Lake Naval Base Boot Camp. I started with Parade In Review: Naval Base Great Lakes graduation 10nov2011. It is from a yr ago but I am sure the Navy doesn't change much. It shows a video within the video about bootcamp life and what our SR are going through.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL_WAM5MoGU&feature=related

I then just kept watching videos off to the side once that one was done. It helped me a lot to see some of the things my SR is doing, and what to expect at PIR.

Can't wait to see my SR Mat standing so proud and sure at PIR!!!!
