OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 297 and 298

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Anyone from ship 11 DIV 298 receive a phone call or mail yet?
I received the first phone call and the form letter.
I've written him every day since then.

No call yet.. only the form letter.

I don't want a call yet to be perfectly honest. I want to wait until they are in the groove, and it hear that doesn't happen until sometime after the second week. I mailed him stamps but don't expect him to write. And actually, I have to go back to the files to find out how to get him a phone card!

Ship 11 Div 298  I received and unscheduled phone call this morning.  So good to hear from my daughter.  She is very homesick and wants pictures of home, the dogs, and us.  She said that training is going well, but that her group is having trouble coming together as a team.  She has made a couple of friends which is good.  She also thanked me for teaching her how to iron and make her bed, it has really helped her.

I got a call today mom karen, my son is also ship 11 Div 298.  He also misses us, but it is also having trouble with the training and trying to fit in.  Hopefully they will start to gel as a team soon.

Also received a call yesterday! Ship 11 Div 298. She says the division is behind schedule, and having some problems as well. Very homesick and on pain meds from dental work.

My daughter is in this division and we got a call yesterday. It was short  but wonderful to hear her voice.  No mail yet.  She stated she hadn't received our letters yet. Hoping you got a call also.  Hang in there.

I received my first letter today.  So excited :)

Hi Goochy - no phonecall or mail yet from my son.  I am hoping for this weekend maybe.

I did receive the form letter last weekend.

Does anyone know what week they are going into?  I'm thinking it's only week 2, but it seems like longer.
