OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Emily:  There are "push" divisions in each PIR group.  That just means that they get a later start, but they get it all done in time!  Every division in this PIR group will PIR on time.

Hi everyone! My husband is in Ship 02 Div 946! I got a phone call yesterday because he needed some contact info, and I had to scan and email another copy of my ID to them because the copy they took wasn't clear enough I guess. They let him talk for 45 minutes across about 5 phone calls. It was a little stressful trying to get him what he needed but he was able to tell me he was alright and he actually sounded really good :) it was so emotional and he's home sick and misses me but he's okay! 946 was on P-hold until yesterday he said, so they just started their official training. But 900 divisions graduate in 7 weeks I guess. :)

Hi dylansmom,

Welcome to the group. We currently live in Co, but my husband and I grew up in the Bay Area, but left CA about five years ago.

Hi all
I'm happy to have found this group. Spoke with my son today. He is very happy! Anyone live near San Francisco? I'm excited to have found out his graduation date. Going to start looking for tickets!

Ship 09 Div 302 for our son !!!
Also today we were fortunate enough to get a call from him (a 40 minute call !!!) He needed us to send in some information nothing major but he got a call out of it! :-) He arrived on 7/29 so I was preparing to hear from a kid who sounded down or depressed and it was the complete opposite!! He sounded really great, I'm so proud of him! He even said the food there was really good :-). God bless him, he is an amazing kid.

Remember that the mail is held from them for the first 2 weeks of Bootcamp until the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained.  So if you get your 1st letter (mailed out when they receive this held mail) and your SR asks why you haven't written, just know that most likely they received their "held" mail after they wrote the letter!
