Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Kyle'sMom: See my message to His Ladybug below! Yes, best to stay until Sunday if possible! Although most will fly out Saturday, sometimes they don't until Sunday and won't know flight arrangements until right before PIR.
His Ladybug: We suggest that all try and stay until Sunday if possible. Travel plans can change, and actually did for one of our N4Moms veterans' son. So that way, if your sailor doesn't happen to fly out until Sunday, you will have Fri and Sat Liberty with your sailor, and then a Sunday airport visit with your sailor. If your sailor does fly out Sat., then you can sightsee!
GaBoyMom: I know....the best way to learn the site is just to spend some time on it and test it out. In the upper left corner of this page, you will find your "personal box". Listed under your screen name. There, you will see your "Inbox" which will show if someone on here has messaged you. However, no one can message you unless they are your "friend" first. You will see the "Friends-Invite" prompt up there too. If you see (1 request) after it, that means someone is trying to add you as a friend. Just click on that and it will show you the person. You can then click on the ACCEPT option and you are friends! You can then message that person by clicking on their picture or screen name, which will take you to their page, where you can hit "Send a Message" and write to them. It sounds more complicated than it really is....just takes some practice! You can also friend request someone on this page by clicking on their picture or screen name, and on their page, click on Add a Friend. That will send them a friend request. Once they accept it, you will see their picture under your "Friends" section on the left side of this page. They may also message you then and say they accepted your friend request. Just keep practicing!
If you have any questions about Bootcamp, PIR, etc, please post them here and we will try and answer them for you!
As far as finding others in 819, watch as ladies join and notice what division number they post, either in their screen name or in their post. If you see one from 819, do what I said above and friend request that person! You can then personal message each other with my personal info than you can post here on the public pages.
Like CatMom said below, ellen will eventually be posting division groups for you to meet others in.l She will post on here when she does it, but it may be another week or so. She has to wait until she can determine the divisions included in this group.
Welcome to the group!
Good Morning All !
Navysister,
You can delete your extra duplicate posts by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner~~
You will meet many right here as more join who have SRs in Division 820. Like ellen0502, she will open up Discussion groups for divisions soon~~
I'm so excited to finally know when my brother will be graduating! He is in division 820 ship 4. Please contact me so we can share things and support each other through this rough time!

So excited to have received the letter today and can start to write!! Welcome all other Moms and loved ones!!
Please do not set up groups for individual divisions. Individual division discussions will be started for the brother divisions sometime in the next few days.
If you have a SR in an 800 division postings must be very limited and non specific. While OPSEC and PERSEC apply to all, the 800 divisions must be very diligent.
