Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Cdenise, usually they do not need a chit to visit the Navy Lodge. Most sailors have no problems going there at all. If they are told to stay away from there then they should ask for the chit. They do need a chit to visit the Navy Gateway Inn that is on base and those two are often confused. RTC is working on getting this confusion stopped but the sailors do still sometime get misinformation.

Gals,
Just a caution to at least take a look at hotel reviews on www.tripadvisor.com. Low price is not everything. You want a good experience for you and your new Sailor!! Navy Lodge's low price is awesome and they have clean and very satisfactory accommodations~ All the hotels diannep mentioned are 4 stars too!

Correct, Mebigds. Navy Lodge doesn't offer discounts, but the other hotels I mentioned may. Navy Lodge is a good choice....I think you will enjoy your stay there!

I booked a room at the Navy Lodge. $66 a night, very reasonable. No discounts though, but that's ok.

Suggested hotels from reviews of others on this site:
Navy Lodge (about a mile from RTC, book in your SR's name if you do not have military ID), Also, Springhill Suites, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express, all of these are about 4-5 miles from RTC and very close to Sarge's MeetandGreet for you all the night before PIR. Call these hotels directly and ask them if they have a Navy Graduation discount. They used to!
