Thanks for sharing! When we need to laugh at home, we try to picture our SR ironing! So good to hear something positive about the division. So glad you got another letter, too!

I laugh about my son ironing too!! His biggest complaint so far has been the folding! LOL!!

Any moms with SR on ship 13 division 313 from Massachusetts on here?
My SR ship 13 div 313 called my husband on Monday the 27th at around 1pm he said he was sorry for not being able to call on Sunday the 26th as almost everyone else in his division was because he was in sick quarters he had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and two route canals done all at one time he said he was in sick quarters for a couple days. Then we received a letter yesterday 30th. He said there are 5 other corpman in the division that are going to A school, with him and there are 3 other SR that are from Boston as well . He said the division does a lot of IT because they are having a hard time getting it together as a team and people don't know how to shut up and listen and that he got hit on inspection because is blanket was 1 millimeter off :( . He said they are practicing a lot for PIR the food is getting repetive . He seems to think that he has liberty for the weekend after PIR but from what I have bee reading is that the SR that have A schools not at GL either leave a couple hours after PIR or they leave the next day to there A schools locations. The only ones that have liberty after PIR are the ones that have A school at great lakes and those Ones get liberty after they move to there A school bunks which could take up to 5 hrs or more. Then they have to be back at there ships by 9:45pm but u can pick them back up on Saturday morning and back by 9:45 pm on Saturday night and then pick up on Sunday morning drop off by 9:45 pm on Sunday and that is when u say your good byes . But according to some veteran moms the SR do not get there orders until 2 days before PIR. So my husband and I are going down with us thinking we may only have a couple of hours with our son. And if we get more it is a special gift. I am hoping we have longer than a couple of hrs but with the military only one knows :( has anyone else heard as well? Are any of you going to meet and greet on Thursday 27th?

Pretty much what you have said here about liberty is what I have read also. My son stays at GL, so we plan to spend what time we can Friday and also Saturday with him, but will need to return home to Oklahoma on Sunday. I wish we could stay on Sunday as well, but I don't think my husband will be willing to take the following Monday off for the time to drive home. There are 6 in our family traveling and we simply cannot afford the airfare for that many people, so we will have to drive. I'm sorry you won't get much time with your SR. Maybe you will get lucky and he will not leave until Sunday. I have heard a few people say that occasionally travel for SR's to "A" school can be Saturday or Sunday. I'm not sure if I'm attending a meet & greet or not. It will all depend on what time Thursday night we get there. It's almost a 13 hour drive for us. My son got IT for running his mouth about a week or so ago. That'll learn 'im! But he had also expressed concern about the division having a hard time getting it together as a whole. He mentioned them getting IT'd a whole bunch one day during a mock inspection because many of them had issues. Hopefully by now they are coming together though. Positive thoughts... and lots of prayers from my end! :-)

Hey Stephanie! We will be driving as well and we are also staying at the Navy Lodge!!! Must be an Oklahoma thing LOL! We will be leaving here on Wednesday night. We are lucky though we aren't leaving to come back home until Monday. I have a friend I work with that has a daughter in GL and says it takes her abt 14hr and she drives at night when traffic is at a minimum.

I am excited to see him! I have only gotten 1 letter and that call we had on Thursday. I am a little heart broken that he hasn't written more. My husband keeps telling me that it is because he is probably studying hard and trying to write everyone else as well. I don't think we are going to any of the meet & greets.

Hello,  We are also staying at Navy Lodge, we are from Michigan so we will be driving also..it is not that far for us....I am thinking we are leaving sometime Sat night, but we might stay till Sun...I have to call the Lodge to see if I can get my room for one more night.. hope to see you there.

@navy momma, I think they are getting too busy to write much. When I look at the NavyDEP schedule online, it starts to get crazy busy around week 4, and the things they are learning about look to me like they probably require more study time as well. I have gotten 4 letters from mine, but remember the first 3 were in the same envelope! So, really I've only  gottem mail from him twice and the one phone call a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure yor son thinks about you all every day! I know they are all ready to be finished with this and move on to the next phase. Hang in there. I know it's hard. I was teary all afternoon yesterday. :-/

Ummm, I didn't get a call on Sun or Mon and my son is in the same division. So far, we have only gotten one call from him and that was 2 weeks ago. Hoping the division is doing better and everyone is starting to pull their weight. I know my son had expressed the same thing about all the IT because of all the talking.

No calls for me :(

I was hoping to get another call...I even called Kyle's dad to see if he got a call and he did not. Maybe your SR got a call due to being in sick quarters for his wisdom teeth and rout canals....poor kid that is a lot in one visit...

I am so happy I made Kyle get his wisdom out before going, my ex was like let the Navy take care of it cause he did not want to pay the co pays...but thank God my new husband and I are best friends with our Dentist so I had Kyle change over to his office and got all 4 out before he left.

Dalton went to the dentist before BC, so I thought we should be good. Didn't even dawn on me about the wisdom teeth. He lucked out this time as the Navy Dentist there at BC told him that his wisdom are not fully developed. Otherwise they would have probably yanked them. Oh well, they will one day anyway.

SR TYLER, SR PRIESTER, SR THOMPSON and SR KEAR. Are these the names of any of your loved ones??? My son mentioned that he has become good friends with all of them :)
